“Great location, comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

The hotel seems to be undergoing some refurbishments, so I must tell that I was shocked on arrival thinking it was a scam, until I realized there was a provisional entrance on the side. After this shock, I was very pleased with the outcome of our stay.
The hotel is clean and well kept. Our room was of appropriate size. I would have liked better lightning since the rooms are rather dark, and some shampoo and conditioner considering it is a four star hotel. Apart from this I found the room very comfortable.
The staff was very helpful even before arrival when I sent some queries. Check in and check out were easily processed. They also arranged for out transportation back to the airport and though we were told to wait for four minutes, after a minute the taxi arrived.
The breakfast though not extensive was good.
Hotel is also very close to the metro and there are a number of shops close by, much cheaper then the ones found in the center.
A drawback was however Internet access. It cost euro 5 for the whole stay but we only got to know on our last day, and I found it rather disappointing that it is not offered free of charge at least in the lobby.

“Great place to stay in Rome near the Vatican”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This place was very nice. Staff were kind and attentive. Local restaurants were overpriced and the food was so so.. It's close to a metro station and was easy to get around

“Not 4 Star”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

A small boutique hotel which was apparently being refurbished during our stay so some of the facilities were not available. Overall the location is great, the staff were very helpful, but thats where it stopped. The lift was from the roaring twenties. For a 4* price they didn't provide any shampoo and conditioner with 2 star being quite generous. despite the fact it seems to have had a facelift in some areas the hotel still looks tired

Room Tip: Good hotel at a 2 star price. No rooms are in any particular good location

“Great first stop on European Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

My husband and I stayed in a suite here the first 3 nights of our European Honeymoon. The location was OUTSTANDING, and the suite was very nice also. The first day our sleep was off so we woke up at 10pm and roamed the streets of Rome until 3am. One of our favorite memories is walking to the Vatican that night while no one was there. We had dinner, visited the Vatican, and sipped wine on the street until 3 am. We never once felt threatened or unsafe. I highly reccommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in a great location. The restaurants nearby offer a delicious menu and true Roman food. Each night we slept with the windows open and listened to the hustle and bustle of the city life. To some this may not sound appealing, but to us it was a nice difference from what we are used to.

Room Tip: The hotel rooms in Italy are nowhere near the size of hotels in America. If you are looking for size...

“spoilt by the last hour”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

We found this hotel to be lovely and clean. Nice bathroom (no soap) and breakfast. However the resteraunt and bar were closed which we were not informed of at check-in. And there is no tea or coffee in the room. Very close to the vatican and St Peter's with plenty of nice places to eat around it. Our break however came to a bad end in trying to order a taxi. We had asked the previous night if we could book one and was told by the receptionist that she would ring in the morning and it would be here in 5 minutes - this lady had been very helpful all weekend. In the morning when we asked the lady who checked us out - I think it may have been the owner or manager as we hadn't seen her before told us there was a taxi strike that day so we couldn't travel that way. After very little help in trying to arrange transport (she didn't want to help) We dashed to the airport via metro and bus and luckily arrived with only 5 minutes to spare. A great little hotel just check any information given is correct.

Room Tip: ask for a bath in room - gave a good size

Dear Guest,
we are happy that you found our hotel nice,. We are making some work in the Restaurant to upgrade it, if you come to visit Rome again we will be happy to guest you with all the new improvment of the Hotel: from the 1st of february we will open again the restaurant wth a new company: a fish fusion restaurant with the taste of Roman trattoria!
We are sorry for the problems with the taxi the last day, but the taxi companies of Rome advise of the strike only the nights before. I've tried to book a limo for you but I wasn't able to do it because they are full of requests! The only reason because I tell you to take the metro quickly is because you have plenty of time, and I knew, as I live in Rome, that the only way to reach the airport in time, is to take the metro and one of the buses that serves Ciampino. I'm sorry that it seems that I wasn't worried about your return!
