My wife and I went to Rome in May in order to attend a family celebration of my son who is married to an italian women. We had seen a travel voucher for this hotel on eBay but since the voucher was not valid for the high-season in May we booked directly with them for 70 Euro per night incl. breakfast.
The Romitello used to be a holiday-home for pilgrims but has opened to the general public recently.
It is located in the midst of a very well kept garden in an area called Torrevecchia, not far away and well connected to the center of Rome.
Upon arrival we were cordially received by José, the manager of the complex, who also showed us to our room: the standars is that of a three star hotel but our room was perfectly fit to accommodate us during the five days we stayed there.
The beds were comfortable and enabled us to rest well after a day of sightseeing, the breakfast was surprisingly complete and of excellent quality, the staff could not have been more accommodating and the price was unbeatable!
We will certainly return to this gem and can reccommend the Romitello to anybody looking for simple but clean and personalized lodging at budget rates.
