“A fantastic find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2011

Great apartment for a short stay in Rome. Room has attractive bare walls - very villa-in-Tuscany feel with funky art deco furniture, your own apple mac with internet and a massive tv and dvd player. The self contained bathroom in a box is fun and has a great shower.
Location is great - near metro, termini station, restaurants and a short walk to the colloseum.
Owner is lovely and leaves you to your own devices with a large choice of DVDs and a great Serve-yourself Breakfast.
After a day of sight seeing this room is great - you can relax with some chilled wine from your fridge, watch a dvd, research your activities for the next day, upload your photos and head out to one of the nearby restaurants for some dinner.
Highly recommended!

Room Tip: both apartments are lovely

“Fell totally in love with this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2010

Everyone said this wasn't the best part of town, but we had no issues and never felt unsafe. We spent many nights in the neighborhood, eating, drinking, walking. It was lovely. This bed and breakfast is in an apartment building. It's really like an apartment with 3 bedrooms and a common room. When we got there, the owner met us at the door and told us he still needed to clean the place. It looked clean to us and we were willing to take it as it was, but he insisted on cleaning it. Nice first impression.
As the owner lives there, he gave us loads of information, a map and marked all kinds of markets, cheap places to eat nearby, bars and the short way to the subways. He was very accomodating. It was like having a tour guide on call. He even gave us his direct number to call if we got lost or needed help with anything.
You get your own key to the building, the apartment and the room. He mostly leaves you to yourself which is nice also. We could come and go as we pleased. Our room for the 3 of us was a queen size bed and a twin bed. They were clearly newer, firm and the best sleep I had my whole trip. The bathroom lacks a shower curtain and the floor is a drain which hurt my feet but overall the whole room was amazing.
The room has a computer to use for free, tv, stereo and dvd player. The common room has movies to watch freely, some Italian, some in English, a big variety of types of movies. There are cereals, a stove, coffee, and other things to eat in the main room. One day he made sure to remind us as we hadn't used any and he didn't want us to think we weren't welcome to it.
He didn't ask for payment until we left and there was no pressure to pay him. He did ask how well we liked the place. He did say that some people don't like the modern feel of his place and others do. He didn't ask for us to leave any form of review but I felt that this is one hidden gem that should be recognized. I have never stayed in a rented room in an apartment before and while I wasn't really sold on Rome itself, this place and it's owner made the experience much more enjoyable.
I would def recommend this place to anyone. Anyone.

“Great B&B option in Rome near Train Station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

Stayed for 3 nights in Asian Delight B&B. It was in a good location only 10 minutes walk to the train station (where you could also get all the tickets for the sightseeing buses), and about 6 minutes from Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. There was a Pastarito only 5 minutes away and other diners and eateries around. Only 5-10 minutes walk from metro stations for the subway.

The B&B was inside an apartment building, and not easy to find unless you have directions and are looking for it. There were some steps to the elevator, which were easy to manage. The B&B had a communal entrance area/ space with travel books, magazines, and breakfast items set out, and a DVD collection which travellers are free to access.

The room was a good size, and had a desk, chair and computer inside for free internet access, and a TV, DVD player and surround-sound-built-in stereo system for our personal use. I've never seen this before, and I was pretty impressed. A great bonus for travellers. The walls were peeling on purpose, and the room and entrance area felt "rustic", and there was a quilt hanging on the wall. It felt a bit beatnik but quite homey.
The bathroom was a bit strange - I've never showered over a grate before. It was a bit industrial/ arty feel.

The breakfast was adequate. Nothing special as DIY, and I could never find any bowls for cereals (and I always forgot to ask when the owner was around - silly me).

Overall, if you are looking for a place a bit different, then this is a great place to stay.
