“Belvedere Century is a beautiful hotel with a sincere hospitality and scenes of serenity”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2010

This hotel has a great location with a beautiful sea view. Also, it is considered close to Rome's Airport. It has a very friendly and very much co-operating staff. Also, the free internet is great. However, you must locate at the lobby to access the internet. Furthermore, "how to reach?" directions listed on the site are not sufficient and I took a risk to reach the hotel from Rome's Fuimucino Airport. Italian citizens were great those speaks English and those not! They need to include much intuitive directions, including landmarks and fool-proof instructions for non-Italian speakers. At the end, you will love the people, shopping, sea, caffes and more of this very quiet and tranquillising city.

“Don't bother - shady place - relatively cheap BUT terrible hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 July 2010

Seriously - if Motel 6 is 10 - this is a 4.

Pros:
- Relatively in-expensive for Rome
- Great Pizzeria nearby (pizza by the pound - try the pumpkin flower pizza!!)
- Real Hot-Water in shower, good-pressure !!
- Mario (shuttle driver - great guy!)
- 20 mins to airport week-day morning.

Cons:
- Terrible Room (Cheesy, Rusted hardware, Fittings falling Off - too many to mention!)
- Toilet was temperamental(may/may-not flush)
- Mosquito menace (couldn't kill 50+)
- Internet only works near front-desk (of-course never mentioned anywhere)
- 12" TV (really 12" !!) didn't work (wanted to watch World-Cup Soccer)
- Don't have decent words to describe bathroom (lets not go there !)

“Old and rustic but does what it says on the tin!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2009

We decided to stay in Ostia because my partner has friends there. It was a great contrast to the hustle and bustle of tourist Rome and the 'Eat and Go' restaurant across from the hotel was great value.
The hotel has seen brighter days (it was built in the hey day of Italian 'Hollywood') but is in a great location in the centre of the seafront. I had read the reviews but said to my partner 'as long as the rooms were clean, I'd be happy'; and they were. Big enough, double glazed patio door which helped to keep the little bit of street noise out and clean throughout, I was happy. The towels were a bit thin but I didn't mind as I had my own. The shower was very small indeed but again 'did what it said on the tin'.
The staff on reception were friendly enough and the rooms had free wi-fi albeit intermittent.
We stopped for five nights and I can honestly say that so long as you're not expecting the Hilton, this hotel is a perfect bargain and suitably comfortable. It's a five minute walk to the station and hey, you're in Rome! The hotel is just somewhere to lay your head and get a shower. If you want more, put your hand in your pocket!

“Awful! There must be better near the Airport”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2009

Late afternoon checkin for early am flight from Rome (FCO). Didn't do much research and didn't want to pay for 4 rooms at the Hilton Airport. Found Lido di Ostea on line and the Belvedere seemed to have location in the city center and beach front going for it. MISTAKE. What a dump. Rooms smelled, ac was poor on a hot August day, towels looked like thin recycled table cloths, wall thin....you get the idea. Beaches are jammed and all infront private, requiring aroung 10 euro for entry, towel, chair, per person with card from hotel. Advice...such it up and pay for the Hilton (since nothing in this town looked reasonable) or get up early and enjoy another magical night in the great city of Rome.

“nice staff, paper thin walls”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 April 2009

we stayed here for our last night in italy. the hotel was a nice location at the shore. we had a view of the sea. unfortunately, the walls are paper thin. the person in the room next to us had the TV blasting all night and was not responding to knocks on the door or calls from the managers desk. we moved to another room to get 2 hours of sleep before we had to catch a cab.
