“Would highly recommend!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2010

I was VERY worried after reading all of the other reviews for this place, but I had already booked so....to our surprise the inn keeper was there, she wasn't smoking, and there was no smell. She showed us to our room which was in the building across the street ( very short walk). It looked like a room out of an Ikea catalog. It was clean and seemed well kept. The beds were comfortable, nice TV, good storage. The bathroom was clean and there were extra supplies located in the shared kitchenette. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and modern. Inn keeper came once and changed the linens, but were were only there for 3 days - and there were extras in the kitchenette. Never did see a breakfast, but we did oversleep one day and left early another - but still for $200 for 3 nights, I'm not complaining. Our flight was canceled and had to stay at another hotel near the airport, for the same price we paid for 3 nights at Cialdini we paid for 1 night and it wasn't nearly as nice. Cialdini isn't in the best area, but we felt completely safe walking around any time of the day. It is centrally located, sights, food, transportation, tours, shopping, $ exchange. Trash and graffiti are all throughout the city - no different than what you see outside Cialdini. I expected a lot worse, and I was surprised. I was completely satisfied and really enjoyed my stay. We are looking forward to our next stay there!!!

“The worst experience you can possibly imagine: bad neighborhood, foggy and molded room, aggressive personnel.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2010

July 26, 2010

Believe me, it is absolutely nothing they promise and show in the pictures. It's a dark, putrid hole. Even the hotels that are rented by prostitutes by hour are better.

I wanted to book this hotel over the phone, allured by the price, and the receptionist surprisingly (never in Italy happened this way) asked me for my credit card number to reserve the room. When I saw the promiscuous neighborhood, the bad entrance, the smelly hallway that led to the hotel, which was in a rented apartment... and the smoky and molded room, I wanted to go somewhere else.
The receptionist was smoking like a snake in the narrow hall, so when I entered I practically couldn't breathe (I have high tolerance, I used to be a smoker myself !) She had the doors open to the couple rooms she was offering, so practically all the smoke was spreading in the rooms. When I asked if she can refrain from smoking since the space is so tight, she said: "I don't know if i can".
I told her that I won't stay here even if it is the last hotel on earth. She said that she would charge my card anyway, although when we spoke over the phone she promised that she won't do that if i don't like the room.

Those people are crooks, believe me. She charged my card, although I left right away and slept somewhere else.

Don't go there, it's full of reasonable B&B and clean hotels in Rome.

“Do not go there even if it is the last place left in Rome to stay”

1) Cialdini Inn represents apartment with three rooms and one desk in the vestibule.

2) There is WC, “hidden” behind a curtain in the vestibule, which smells in the entire apartment.

3) Very strong doubts about the cleanliness in the room. The top blanket was pretty dark.

4) There is no hot water for more than 3 minutes because the boiler in the room is tiny. No way two people to take shower one after another in at least one-hour period.

5) Our welcome info was that they will move us in another apartment the last day of our stay there, because of some reason …”a person will come to repair the TV set”…or something. No excuses. No possibility for comments.

6) The last day we packed everything in order that they are going to move us.
They did not even arrange a place where to move us.
So we went all the way around the building of the “hotel” together with a non English speaking girl and then we went back.
We didn’t receive explanation, because she did not speak English.
So we unpacked again our things and stayed there.
The people in the next room had the same experience as ours the same day.

6) Nobody knows where the manager is.

“Nothing like we're expected”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2009

The location is fantastic but the rest...
The relation price-quality it's out of time for the service.
The breakfast (when served, not daily) were so poor that we need to have another one near there.
The room wasn't cleaned daily and the towels weren't changed daily too.
We do not recommend this B&B (yes, it's not a hotel, but we were expected more and you expect more when you pay around 400 €uros for almost a week).

“Small, good value but need improvement!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2009

We booked this inn online and was nothing like the description. The location was great across the street from the train station, taxis, metro and buses. Close to restaurants and sight seeing. The staff was helpful when they were there, we arrived in the morning and they were there to greed us until mid morning, once they leave they don't come back until the next morning which is not helpful in case of problems or emergencies. The rooms need upgrading and the remote controls needed batteries. We asked for them and finally got them after a few days. The towels were not changed every day or even after 3 days and the staff was not around to get clean ones. The garbage was not taken until we checked out which is unacceptable. Besides the location this hotel has nothing to make us want to go back. I knew the breakfast was cappuccino and sweet bread but every day, after the second day I was tired and bored of it and did not eat it. Will not recommend this hotel.
