Rome is my final destination for my entire Europe trip and also the most disappointed one, all attributed to the terrible experience I've had with Ciao Bella Hostel. I found this hostel from Hostelworld.com and noticed that the hostel was quite high rated and well recommended by other tourists. Sadly, Hostelworld.com shown no room availability for my arrival date. I searched from other websites and it showed the same thing. When I almost wanted to give up, I found availability from Hostelclub.com and quickly booked for 3 nite stays.
BUT, upon my arrival, I was asked to shift to other hostel as the staff told me that their toilet was out of order, which I later on realised that it was all lies, the hostel has been overbooked instead. I am not sure whether it was an error made by the booking agent or it was a dodgy partnership among the hostels. I was being assigned to a so-called "NEW" hostel, whereby it was actually being refurbished and restored from an old building. The toilet was incredibly dusty, the doors could not be locked, no pantry, there are not even a single hanger in the bathroom, and worst thing, the bathroom will be flooded after we took a shower due to the faulty draining system.
Therefore, i strongly advise those who wanted to make a booking in Ciao Bella Hostel, make sure it's from a reputable booking agent, e.g. Hostelworld.com so that the same incident will not happen to the next unlucky person.
