We stayed here for 4 nights and it was really 2 or 3 nights too many. The place is bearable and it was ok for us because we spent the vast majority of each day visiting sites, seeing friends and going out for food and drinks.
There are no plug sockets in the rooms, we had a lot of problems with the ones in the common room and for some reason our hairdryer only worked in the bathroom. This was a problem in itself but made worse by the fact that there is only one bathroom in the entire place (there were at least three rooms of 8). It wasn't clean, the toilet roll ran out often and there was forever a long line of people waiting. The kitchen area is shockingly small and it didnt help that it seems to be the staff and their faimly that live there too. It all made for a tight squeeze!!
The common room was alright, had a few snazzy Tvs and games but yeah, it seems that the staff constantly have friends over to play them and we continuoulsy woke up to see someone sleeping on the sofa in there. Random!!
There are no lockers and the doors don't lock, which makes security impossible. There wasn't any hot water for one night, the fridge wasn't working the next day and many of the electricity sockets don't work. There was also an 12am-8am kitchen lock out, which makes getting to the vatican city museum by 8:15 impossible.
The staff were hit and miss. They all seemed a bit grumpy at times, happy other times and when we asked about sockets and things they just didn't seem to care.
Not the cleanest, not the best but it did the job and was one of the cheapest places we could find. We met some nice people there but wouldn't recommend it if u need ur space or like things to charge in your room. Directions are ok on hostelworld but they don't have a sign outside so it is very easy to miss it. They are near a shop with a yellow Kodak sign outside.
