I stayed at the Aran Mantegna for a couple of nights for work.
It is true that the hotel is not right downtown (you will have to take a taxi to go to town, which will cost you around 15 Euro each way and take 10 to 15 mins), but for my work the location was perfect.
The hotel is brand new, very spacious and clean. The staff is nice and speaks good enough English. The rooms are very original, with a modern decor and some quite entertaining lighting systems.
I got a VERY good rate for this hotel through my company, including breakfast (which is also very decent), so it makes it the best value for money I have encountered anywhere in the last few years.
Only (minor) downpoints would be for me:
- No free internet: You have to pay for this on top, which I find inconvenient. I would have preferred the room to be a few more Euro and to have this facility included. On another note I am not quite sure that the hotel is (yet) equipped to have Wifi in all rooms (I think even if you pay you still have to use an Ethernet connection).
- Not much free TV: Basically you can get CNN or BBC World for free. All other options are Pay Per View (no movie/Sport/Documentary channels on the go)
- I would personnally prefer if there would be a proper door to the bathroom/toilet, especially if I was not travelling on my own (these are sliding see-through doors made of polished glass) - I have seen in the comments that some other customers have had a problem with this.
- I think they will have swimming pool & spa facilities soon, which are not yet open (perhaps the rates will increase then though :()
Again: These are MINOR points, I am just detailing a bit as this is the only downpoints I saw to this hotel.
