“Horrible hotel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We stayed here for a week. It was just horrible. A long way to down town Rome, we spent alot of money on taxes. This hotel has there price set way to high for what you get. No glasses in the room for your drinks. The sheets were so stuff you could get a paper cut. Th beds were old and felt well used. The staff was just horrible, they went out of there way not to help you. The cleaning staff was the best part of this place, they were nice and did a great job on cleaning the rooms. We will NOT be back and I would NOT stay in the place. To much money!

Dear “Melissa B”,

First of all I would like to thank you for the time you took to share with us your experience about your stay.

We are extremely sorry to learn that your stay was not up to your expectations; for this reason, please accept a brief explanation from our side.

As you well pointed out the hotel is not located in the historical center of Rome but can be easily connected by public transport either using bus lines nº 160, 671 and 30 that take you in less than 20 minutes to Piazza Venezzia, where the main monuments and attractions are, or metro line B “Basilica San Paolo”.

On the other side, we are extremely sorry to hear about the missing glasses in the room as we do always offer two glasses per room, however please be assured that we will discuss this issue in detail with our housekeeping department. In order to be able to do a more thorough check of the room you stayed in, we would be grateful if you could contact us with more details.

In addition, we are surprised to hear about our employees lack of helpfulness and we are sorry we did not make you feel welcome, we believe that guest satisfaction comes above all from human interaction and we will study this matter very carefully.

We hope that, incidents aside, you took good memories of your stay in Rome and hope to welcome you soon in our hotel in order to better fulfill your expectations.

With best regards,

Riccardo Campione

“Very good and modern hotel but a bit away from the city centre”

My family and I spent 5 nights here. The hotel is very modern. The rooms are quite spacious and beautifully decorated. The lighting is very unusual and looks great, you just need to fiddle around to know which switch to turn on. The bathroom is very clean and roomy, so is the walk-in wardrobe. There is a restaurant and a bar on site. The included breakfast is very good too. The only down side is the hotel's location. It's a bit far from the centre. But you can find the ATM, the supermarket within 5 minutes walk.

“Clear and Spacious Room but Very Far from the City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

The Aran Mantegna hotel is a nice and clean hotel. I had a single king-bed room during a conference which was also held at the hotel premises. The room is spacious and has electric curtains which you can control while you are laying on the bed and watching TV. The bathroom is also spacious, clean, and well equipped.

I've got a room at the upper floor and that caused problems in the speed of my internet connectivity so I had a very bad internet connection. In fact the internet connection was bad through the entire hotel. My colleagues at the conference told me that they even could not get a connection.

Another problem with the hotel I think is the breakfast. Merely Italian with Croissant and Nutella which I found very limited. I did not like the breakfast nor the juice which I think was not too good.

Finally, the hotel is very far from the city center. If you take a taxi you should expect to pay around 10 Euros! If you take the bus then you need to waste 45 minutes until you reach the main city center, which I think is called Piazza Venezia, because it goes around many places and bus stations.

Room Tip: Do not book this hotel if you aim to see Rome attractions. It is too far from where these are locate...

“Nice room but a bus ride from the sights.”

Room was comfortable and large. We slept well and the staff were very helpful. Although the location is little distance from the roman gates, you;ll be busing it anyways so as long as you don;t mind a little walking, it keeps you from all the frantic noise of the city. Close to ATM's/banks and restuarants.

“Clean and comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

Spent two nights here as part of a Trafalgar tour group. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom with the frosted glass windows took some getting used to. The hotel mistakenly put my friend and me in a shared bed, but three rooms later we had our own comfy beds. No free wifi, it costs 8 Euros for one hour. This hotel is pretty far from the main tourist attractions, but being part of a tour group, that did not really affect us.
