“Birthday weekend”

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location is perfect, because it is close to the Vatican Museum and St Peter's Basilica, plus other famous sites. However, the lift is extremely small and it was a struggle to get my two young kids in and a medium sized suitcase and a folded buggie. The room was quite small too, but comfortable and luxurious.

Breakfast was good also, but do not order the hot chocolate for breakfast in the morning. It looked as though it was pure melted chocolate and did not taste nice either - very bland, not even my eldest daughter who loves chocolate would not drink it.

Overall, I would stay here again. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

“Honeymoon heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

A lot of online research went on before we chose this place for 5 nights of our honeymoon - and it was so worth it. The "basic" room which was absolutely lovely, with a large and very comfortable bed, balcony overlooking the internal courtyard, aircon etc, and a luxurious marble bathroom (his n hers sinks, bidet, double-wide shower etc). The staff were unfailingly helpful and polite, and having our own key meant no issues with the unusual times we came and went. We were about 3 minutes stroll from St Peters and the Vatican Museums, surrounded by buildings of character and charm (and delicious food - we wished we'd tried LÍsola della Pizza earlier in the trip). We walked everywhere, no need for taxis. Would definitely stay here again if we ever get back to Rome (magari...)

Room Tip: Book online and as far in advance as possible to get the best rate.

“Quality value hotel in an expensive city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011 via mobile

Stayed here for 2 nights last weekend for my fiancees birthdays. Found it by accident on trip advisor and was glad i did. Booked with expedia and got a good rate on a luxury double.

Hotel is on metro line a, ottoviano stop (used for st Peters) 5 mins from termini stop. Literally a 2 mins walk to hotel and there are signposts showing the way. A 5 min walk to entrance to st Peters basilica. Good safe feeling area.

Hotel itself is clean and tidy. Rooms are quite small but well laid out and high spec for the price. Breakfast served in room at pre arranged time and you choose what you want.

Service pleasant enough given the language barrier.

Overall a fantastic hotel for the money and well worth searching for a good deal

“Fantastic loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

My boyfriend booked for us to go away for my birthday. Had an amazing time and the rooms were gorgeous , breakfast brought to your room at whatever time in the morning. We were giving a couple of sets of keys so we could come and go as we pleased. The location was great because it was so close to the Vatican we could always find our way back after walking the lengths of the city. Bed was super comfy, the staff were very nice and non intrusive so you didn't feel like you had to get out of the way first thing in the morning. There was a mini fridge so we could bring a bottle of wine back and keep it chilled.

“Good Value in overpriced Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

Stayed there on a 4 day romantic trip, and loved everything about Rome, an amazing city !! As far as the hotel goes, i researched online for a very long time, and all i could find was either cheap crack house looking places or very overpriced 4/5 star hotels. After a grueling process of reading reviews, checking photos, various diferent websites, forums and opinions i opted for MDM luxury rooms. My only concern was people banging on about the size of the rooms, i need'nt have worried. I stayed in a standard room, so i assume the smallest but i thought it was fine, ok there wasnt alot of space, but it was very clean, and tastefully decorated, 2 bed side tables, a wardrobe, a small desk and a flat screen TV, the bed was very comfortable so what else do people need ?? i don't get it....anyhow they have bigger rooms just pay more i guess.... Anyway, back to the review, the staff were very nice and helpful so no complaints there, the location was superb, real close to the vatican but more importantly a nice area in the evening with plenty of resturantes to try out, no need to go into the centre, we did on one ocasion venture to via veneto for dinner and coctails but there is no need, besides we did so much walking during the day trying to take in all the sites that in the evening it was nice to be able to stay local. the Metro station is Octaviano, on line B, which is literally round the corner. Breakfast is limited and served in the room, it must be ordered the day before but a couple of times we forgot and when we arrived back late at night the order form was stuck to the door, breakfast was always delivered on time, like i said before the staff were great !! the hotel is located on a first floor of an apartment block, but quite easy to find, just check google maps ! the place is not manned 24 hours a day, so after a certain time i think 22.00 your on your own, they give you a set of keys to get through all the gates and doors, and ofcourse there are a couple of emergency numbers if anything is needed. i only have 2 complaints the first was one of the guests sneaked into their room one of them irritating small dogs that bark all night so didnt get much sleep, didnt mention it to the manageress as i am sure she didnt know about it as these people arrived late at night and left the next morning, besides she was so nice i didnt have the heart to complain. And also it would be nice to have some english speaking channels on the TV, but apart from that everything was superb !!
