“Overall poor quality and service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2010

I stayed in the hotel on a class trip, and was very disappointed with it. The rooms are just like they look on the hotels website, which is totally acceptable. Unfortunatly, nothing in them works. The safe did not work in any of the rooms, the TV did not work in my room and most of the bathrooms had a terrible stinch. When we complained about the problems, we got no help at all. They just said "Thats how it is in all the rooms" - Great, thanks for nothing!
Furthermore the beds very terrible and the noise from the street was excessive, so avoid this hotel if you're actually the type who sleeps.

The pricing is low and the rooms had a descent size. Therefore i give it the rating "poor" but its close to "terrible".

“Good location, but that's about it.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2010

Although Hotel Marisa has a good location, being next to Termini, for most rooms, that's where it ends. Very basic indeed. Very noisy as well, even at night. The beds are comfortable though. The TV only had Italian channels which was not too exciting. The guy who gave us our keys was a bit grumpy and the breakfast is quite awful. Best go somewhere else for that. The area it is in is full of beggars and homeless people, so you've got to watch out.

Although in Rome you shouldn't idle in your room, it is very nice to get back to comfortable room after a long day of walking and sightseeing. This was not it. The elevator was usually broken so had to walk up about 3-4 flights of stairs before reaching the room. We did have a balcony, which was nice.

All in all, only go here if you're on a budget and don't plan on spending too much time in your room. And all the other hotels are full.

“3 Bad nights sleep”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2008

What can I say. A 3 star hotel which should be 1 star. Room had ok beds but the sheets were riped. TV remote damaged. Bathroom toilet sheet cracked (Did get replaced) sink hanging off the wall. Very basic room. Breakfast was bad, juice was bad.

AIR CON - Costs 20 euros and breakfast cost 10 euros

We did not pay for the air con and left the windows open was so noisy Forget a good nights sleep. Hotel lift in bad repair.

“Very nice hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2008

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Marisa for 6 days in May. We had expected quite a low room quality because of the price of the room, but we found it to be much more than we had expected.

We stayed at the first floor so there was a lot of noise from the street and they were also doing some construction in the room next to ours which began at 7 in the morning. That was a bit annoying, but with a pair of ear plugs we did not notice anything.

The complimentary breakfast was not too exciting, but that's just Rome for you.

The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful and our bed was made once a day and our room tidied and towels refreshed.

The location of the hotel was just perfect, right next to the Termini station. We did not hang around outside in the evening because we were told that the neighbourhood wasn't completely safe, but in the daytime and early evening it was very fine.

All in all a nice hotel - we would definitely recommend in to others on a budget.
