“A good place to explore Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 March 2011

Location is great ( close to Termini, a store in 100m) rooms are very clean, there is everything you need to have a rest after a long day . Cosy beds, working radiators, no problems with taking the shower.
Just be ready that you have to walk ( about 3-4 minutes) to the cafe to have breakfast ( a croissant and a tea , coffee, juice or chocolate-that s it)
The hotel itself occupies only the 4th and the 5th floors of the building ( there is a quite interesting almost ancient elevator),but you will be provided with the key to come whenever you want.
I would not recommend it for loud companies as all the room doors lead into the hall and you might disturb the neighbours- see the picture ( though there is a lady sitting at reception and "watching" the guests behaviour!)
While booking this hotel I got all the answers to my questions rather quickly (through e-mail)-don t hesitate to contact the owner if you need some extra information )

“great stay - cheap, clean and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2011

great value for money, stayed in a quad room. Room wasn't cramped, had a closet to hang clothes and a great heater! We were greeted by a young spunky italian, he pointed out to us where breakfast was (cafe around the corner, served coffee and pastry) and some places where we should visit in rome. There was also an older lady who didn't speak english but smiles and some Buongiorno and ciao got us by! The room was clean and beds comfortable. The bathroom was slightly small, but you can put up with it for the price we paid for the room. Would defiantly stay again

“Basic but good hotel near station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2010

Well we were not expecting many frills from this one but basic hotel features. The room is spacious and also the toilet is big enough too. Rooms are kept very clean and also each morning towels are replaced and toiletries are replenished. Breakfast is not provided by hotel owners but by 3rd parties a few roads away - consisting of some pastries, a coffee and some juice. Location is great since its very close to termini station - just 10mins walk and you're there. I recommend this hotel!

“Brilliant !!”

We booked a quad room at the Katty in Rome as there were 3 of us travelling together and also because Rome is so expensive, we wanted to try and keep the costs down and have a relatively cheap-ish long weekend! I have admit to being slightly apprehensive as we arrived in Rome as to what the Katty Hotel would be like not for any other reason than it being more of budget accommodation and I wasnt sure what to expect. However, I had absolutely nothing to worry about or be concerned about whatsoever. The hotel was fantastic, very clean, we were very well looked after by the owner and her family (I think its family run?), we had fresh towels every day, the room was cleaned and tidied every day and was absolutely spotless, it was fully air-conditioned (on remote control), the room we stayed in was absolutely massive - I have stayed in many 5 star hotels that have never had that amount of room and space in one hotel room!! and we had keys so we could come and go as we pleased. Breakfast was included and we were given vouchers to pop along to a small cafe a few minutes walk away for croissant and coffee (options of regular coffee or latte, cappucino etc) and the breakfast was very nice with lovely fresh, sweet croissants stuffed with jam :-) We didnt stay out particularly late, but on the one night we did, it wasnt a problem at all.

The Katty Hotel is ideally located near the Termini - about a 10 minute stroll around the corner, and across a square. Its a safe area as a lot of the embassies appear to be around that area so lots of armed guard around outside of the buildings which only added to our feeling already very safe. There are two supermarkets within a two minute walking distance and the Hotel is close to Linea A and B - A going into the Termini and B stopping literally at the corner of the road of where the Hotel Katty is.

The hotel also has wi-fi available which was handy when we wanted to check-in for our return flight.

I would definitely recommend staying here, and if I do manage to get back to visit Rome again, this is most definitely where I wil be staying !

Thank you Katty Hotel for a wonderful stay :-)

“Clean quiet room, rock hard mattress.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2010

Pros about this hotel; it's close to the Metro Caestro Pretorio B line stop, as well as a 20 minute walk from the Roma Termini. The rooms are clean, quiet, and have a contemporary decor. It boasts amenities like a mini-fridge, a remote-controlled air conditioner, and a flat screen TV. It's also near decent restaurants along Via Palestro and Via Castelfidardo.

Our unit is on the 6th floor (the 5th floor in European parlance), but serviced by a tiny elevator.

Now the cons: the mattress was rock hard, and not very comfortable. Opting for the breakfast service is of dubious value, as the nearby bar provides a minimal breakfast, consisting of one fruit-filled croissant, and your choice of tea or coffee.

In summary, travelers on a budget who want more than what a hostel offers, might want to put this one on their short list. Those wanting a better night's sleep might want to splurge for a nicer room elsewhere.
