“Smelly room, bad breakfast”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Stay somewhere else. The room was dated and smelled of cigarettes and cigars. It is by no means a four star hotel it claims to be. The breakfast was just plain terrible! There is bread bread and more bread....nothing else. The location is ok, and there is a good restaurant just up the hill, but still, I think something better can be found in Rome.

“A perfect place to stay for an easy walk to the historic center of Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

Just a couple of blocks off Via Cavour (major artery to historic area) in a quieter not so touristy area. The hotel clerk was very helpful and accomodating. The room price was E-80, a larger room with private tiled bathroom. The room view from the 4th floor was very nice, looking out over the two intersecting streets. We took the metro subway and exited at -Cavour, two blocks walk to the hotel. The breakfast (included with the room) was large varied and tasty, the coffee superb. They also have a nice outdoor restaurant with shady arbor where we ate when we arrived. The food was excellent! The room comfortable and quiet.

Room Tip: Even though we had a corner room facing two streets it was very quiet until about 6AM, but who wants...

“Rome in October”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

Just back from 4 nights in Rome. We had a fabulous time and just loved Rome. Hotel is a perfect base to see all the sights. Staff could not be more pleasant and helpful. Pleasantly surprised at the cost of food and drink. Ate twice at the resturant just up the hill next to the hotel on a recommendation from the reception staff. Gave us a card and we got 10% off the bill. It was fabulous and at the end they just sat the shots bottle down and we helped ourselves. Lovely food and reasonably priced. Antonio the night porter was fun and we enjoyed his slightly "eccentric" sense of humour. Breakfast was basic but fresh and was enough to get us started on our trips. Would definitely go back.

“Second year in a row with Ivanhoe. Great!”

This year we brought a small tour group to stay. The staff accomodated our special requests. The hotel cleanliness, location and breakfast make this an affordable sleeping place in Roma.

“Simple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

This hotel has good location (Monti) which is not so touristy yet close to everything as you can walk to all the major attractions and enjoy the strolling. I walked from it as far as to Vatican City and Trastevere.

Room itself is very simple and very very small, yet I only stayed in it for a sleep, so cannot complain much,
Breakfast is also very basic
