“Great location”

Thanks Rosanna for a great stay. We loved the location and all your help.

Rosanna greeted us with a hug and smile and showed us to the room. The apartment was a decent size for the middle of rome and was clean. It was like staying at a friends home, with the cupboards full of food and stuff.

Rosanna took us on two tours and both were great.... she knows her history. 100% recommend. She also brought us some lovely gifts.

One word of advice...... make sure you know where the buses go and you are going in the correct direction. We got a little lost :)

If you are looking for 5 star this may not be the place, but if you want something simple and easy....this is a great option and sensational location.

“A Home in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Vatican Vista became more than travel accommodations for us, it was home. Rosanna and David welcomed us with open arms. The apartment was warm and comfortable and they even had a bottle of wine ready for us after our long flight from the United States. There is also a computer with internet in the room which was extremely useful to plan the rest of our trip, catch up on e-mail, etc.

The bed and breakfast is in a central location - within close walking distance of the Vatican, the Trevi Fountain, etc. We walked out the door into the heart of Rome. Rosanna was also our tour guide for our day in Ancient Rome and another day at the Vatican. Don't miss out on her tours. Rosanna is a wealth of knowledge and having lived in the United States for some time, she was able to relate the history and culture in a unique way.

Visiting Rome is a special experience unto itself but staying at Vatican Vista made it unforgettable. When I return to Rome, my first stop will be Vatican Vista.

“Amazing view and Rossana is the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Rossanna is the most helpful person and a consummate host. Before we arrived, she answered my many questions about planning our Italy trip. She even said, "keep the questions coming". She arranged for a driver to meet us at the train station and greeted us outside on the street with hugs. That is the kind of person she is. She has lived in the U.S. so she speaks excellent English. She brings you breakfast everyday at the time you request it - juice, milk, yogurt, fruit, croissonts, toast. We arrived (during Christmas) in the evening to champagne and chocolates and treats. She makes you feel totally at home. You have daily maid service. She and her 88-year old mom come in and wash your dishes, make your beds and clean up. She even changed our sheets and towels in the middle of the week for us, without us asking. The apartment has an amazing view of the basilica dome and the pope's private apartment out each of the bedroom windows. It is an 1884 building with marble floors. It is her daughter's apartment so it is fully furnished. It currently has a bathroom with a shower/tub combo and washing machine (and she provides a drying rack), a fully stocked kitchen with a microwave (you could cook meals and save money but we enjoyed eating out - but heated up leftovers in the microwave), 2 large bedrooms - each with a love seat and table and chairs, and a hallway with a computer and printer. She also provides free wifi if you have your own laptop. Each bedroom has a flat panel LCD TV. You even get a cell phone to make calls in Italy - we just used it to call Rossana and tell her what time we wanted breakfast each morning but she provides you with emergency numbers in case you need them - she takes very good care of her guests. You get several keys - there are 2 doors downstairs that are locked for security. The key to the apartment door is one that can't be copied (so former guests can't copy and then come back and get in) so we took extremely good care of it so as not to lose it. She has very sturdy locks on the apartment door. Rossanna will give you advice on how to get around the city. She is a tour guide so she is very knowledgeable. She arranged for a driver to take the 4 of us in a large van to Pompeii and Herculaneum for the day (it cost a lot but the driver was professional with a new van and we could not have seen both sights in one day using public transportation). We stayed for a week over Christmas. We enjoyed the short walk to St.Peter's square at midnight on Christmas eve - amazing!!! And my son and I went to the Vatican museum one afternoon and there was no line at all. The weather was pleasantly cool and sunny almost all of the time. I recommend the off-season to avoid lines and multitudes of people. Allow as much time as you can in this beautiful, historic city because there is so much to see in Rome. This apartment was perfect for the 4 of us in our family. Rossana even got up at 3:30 a.m. to make sure we were awake to get our son off to the airport for an early flight (and she arranged for the driver). She is the most cheerful, thoughtful, patient and helpful person you could meet. She will treat you like family!!!

We had nice talks with hostess so that we understand Rome deeply and travel happily.
Nice breakfast each morning. We were grateful that the hostess made the nice breakfast for us since she would get up early in the morning.

“Great Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

We were the 'other couple' with Fiddlebike, so sharing the apartment was perfect for the 4 of us. Fully agree with the previous review's comments. Vatican Vista is excellent value. Any lodging in a city has noice, and here it is quite tolerable - we even kept our window open at night. We would stay here again on a visit to Rome - ideally with another couple to share the apartment. Beds were comfortable; bathroom a bit small, but fully adequate.
