“Good location - very basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

I booked this hotel only because it was the only one left in the area.
It's very basic - no frills.
Staff were OK - rooms were clinically clean.
No hot water in my shower, mildly warm and absolutely no pressure.
You need 4 keys just to get from the street to your room which was annoying.
Paper thin walls - I thought the people in the next room were IN my room.
Lots of slamming doors in the morning.
Didn't have breakfast - didn't look overly appetising - and why would you when you have Campo de Fiori, Piazza Navona etc all around the corner.

“Clean, but not very comfortable”

This is a very small hotel on a busy street, breakfast was less than desirable. We tried to check out early, but the girl working the front desk didn't know how to work the credit card machine! We came back when she told us, and no one was working the front desk, for hours!! The rooms are sparse with no tv or sheets (they just give you a thin duvet-type thing). I will say that it was clean, but the price seemed rather high for what you get.

“very good location terrible breakfast”

The location it's very good, the hotel very clean even if modest, we got lucky and got probably the only room with a tv set and small fridge, but no phone!! and the breakfast was the most poor and cheap breakfast I never got in any hotel with the worst coffee ever in Italy! A real pity because for the price and the location the place is worth to pay and the staff are all kind beside one short and rude girl that doesn't speak a word of English.
I will suggest the owner, please do not serve your cheap breakfast!! so you will not upset your guest!

“Unreliable, overbooked so had to move hotels”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

Very unimpressed with this hotel. I booked one night here for my sister and her new husband who flew in from Germany that day. We went to the hotel at 9 am and staff said the room wasn't ready (understandable as check in was 2pm I think). We went back at 2pm and staff said there were no rooms and they had overbooked. They used the excuse that rooms were damaged from rain the previous day (which was true, there were storms). But why we couldn't have been told at 9am? we could have found another hotel. Instead, my sister and husband had to walk 10 minutes to another hotel. Didn't even offer to help with their bags. Very unimpressed with the service of this hotel. I only booked this hotel as it was close to where I was staying. Would not recommend.

“Great location, comfortable beds, air conditioning and hot water problems”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

We stayed for 3 nights and were pretty satisfied. The hotel provided what was advertised - great location, clean rooms, kosher friendly/vegetarian breakfast, no TV, no phone, part time front desk staff at a price well below other hotels and accomodations in the area. We walked everywhere - to the Jewish Ghetto and synagogue, to the Vatican, to major sites like Trevi Fountain, Forum, piazzas and monuments and an internet center just down the street. We arrived from the airport early in the morning a few hours before check-in time. The staff was very accomodating. We were able to get our keys, put our luggage in our room even though it was not ready yet and use the washrooms which was a huge help. That night, the airconditioning worked just fine...until about 1 AM when the compressor seemed to go off (and went back on at about 5 AM) - It got quite hot in the room and hard to sleep. Opening the windows was no solution because of the noise from the main street. And then...in the mornng there was no hot water to shower! We spoke to the helpful front desk clerk who explained that there was a hot water problem that was being fixed and that indeed the compressor does go off (saving money? neighbor complaints about noise? Not clear). In any event they arranged for us to get a fan and the hot water did get fixed so our 2 and 3rd night was much better,

Room Tip: Ask about airconditioning - apparently not all rooms have and some compressors stay on all night?
