We stayed at this B&B for a week in October 2011. We were two women with two teenagers (15 years) in a room with four beds. We were met at the door by the old lady who runs the place, Rita, and immediately we were told to keep very quiet. Rita didn't speak anything but Italian, but for us that wasn't a problem.
A little bit of a problem were the beds, which were really sagging badly, and furthermore very squeaky. But who had really come to Rome to sleep, anyway?
The bathrooms were in a somewhat questionable state, probably because of Rita's age (81) and her poor eyesight, and due to the lack of hot water. When taking a shower, there was 20 seconds of really boiling hot water followed by two minutes of ice cold. But we managed to get clean, anyway.
Every morning we were served Rita's coffee with bisquits of different kinds, but after leaving the B&B in the mornings, we always took a second cup in some of the nearby cafés. Nearby there were also several good family-run restaurants for dinner time.
The location was really superb, only approx. 200 meters from the door of the Vatican museums! And approx. 700 m to the nearest Metro station.
So if you aren't too picky, go for it! The sweet Rita will try to make your stay as comfortable as she can, I'm sure! She was really a Roman treasure!
