My wife and I spent the last three days of April in Welcomerome. Mike was waiting for us even though a little earlier to what we had been told. We had a nice room with plenty of space to put away things. Bathroom, spotless. The kitchen has more appliances that we could use and Ana Maria was around to give us a hand in whatever we needed. She had as a Roman would, an extensive knowledge on what to do, where to go and how to get there by public transportation, besides Tram 8 that gets you into town in ten minutes. Do not expect transportation to work on Labor Day. The balcony with a couch and a table, just perfect to relax after a long days walk. On our last day, breakfast was ready at the balcony with lots of goodies. What a wonderful touch. Needless to say that while getting their meals ready Ana Maria would share bits of home made dishes which were superb. The feel is different when you are downtown in a busy street and you enter your hotel as compared when you take a small ride on a bus and you get to "your neighborhood" If you want to stay in a place that feels like home, close to Trastevere the older section of Rome, Welcomerome, is the place.
