“Great location if you want to "live" Roma !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

My boyfriend and I had some troubles with the car when arriving from Cinque Terre to Roma, but finally reached the city around 2 am. Mauro was still here, waiting for us ! he is incredibly nice, and took 20min to explain us everything to see and do in Rome in 2 days: places to eat, things to see and when, icecreams to enjoy, cocktails to try!
The hotel is well situated, between 2 subway stations (red line, 15min to go to the Vatican);, and 10min walking from the Colisseum/palatino/forum, etc..
The inside parking (15eur /night) is great if you don't want to leave your expensive car in the street (Italy is known for that...).
We checked out around 10am but Mauro let us leave the car until 4PM to enjoy the city the last day and not pay the parking outside.
The rooms are good, but not luxurious. The bathroom was clean, the apartment was quiet.
Mauro gives you tickets for a coffee and croissant in the coffee bar close by for your breakfast.

I would definitely stay there if I go back to Roma and would recommend it !

“Great place to crash after a long day of sightseeing!”

This is not for you if you are looking for a classic 'hotel', but if you are happy with a clean, safe and very centrally located place to sleep, then this will be perfect. Mauro is very helpful (though you may want to ask him to slow down when he speeds through his map orientation! :-) and the only problems we had were minor and didn't impact the enjoyment of our trip ie the water pressure was low and they advertise free tea and coffee but we couldn't find any tea/coffee cups, only plastic water cups. But in general we were very happy!

“Great little hotel in the centre of Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

We arrived 2 hours later than planned but Mauro was waiting with a smile. He was very helpful and spent a lot of time explaining everything to us and gave us information and a map of Rome.

The location was great, 2 minutes walk from a metro and 15 minutes walk from Termini train station. The free breakfast at the cafe nearby was a good way to start the day. We never had to wait for the shared bathroom. The room and the bathroom were clean. The fridge and kettle in the hall were very useful. The only issue was our neighbours talking after midnight, the walls must be quite thin, but that was the only thing. There are only three rooms in the B&B so there is never much noise.

We would stay here again as it is great value - 70 euros for a spacious double room.

Room Tip: Ask for room 3 - away from the other bedrooms

“Central location and great option for budget traveller”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

We stayed 5 nights in RomeBed in mid July 2011. RomeBed is essentially an apartment that has been converted into guestrooms. There are 3 rooms off the long corridor. The rooms share 1 large, bright and clean bathroom. The rooms have basic but ample furnishings with desk, cupboard and side tables.

The owner, Mauro, was most helpful. We arrived at the airport quite late - Mauro provided us with a transfer to the rooms (at a reasonable price), where he showed us all of Romes sights on a tourist map and gave us his tips for the best Gelato and some restaurants!

The rooms do not have aircon, but we found the overhead fan to be sufficient. The shared bathroom is clean and spacious. We rarely had to wait to use the bathroom as there are only 3 rooms to share between.

Security wise, the rooms are very secure - the apartment is located on the 3rd floor of an old, very charming building - there is a small lift, so no need to lug your bags up the stairs. Mauro will give you a set of 4 (!!) keys which give you entry to the various doors in the building! There would be no way anywould could break into that place!!

RomeBed is not a hotel, but it is not trying to be. It is simple, budget accommodation in a city which can otherwise be very expensive. We found it to be perfect for what we needed.

Mauro also provided a laundry service and he allowed us to leave our bags in the hallway until late afternoon on the day of checkout until we were due to catch our train.

All in all a good stay and we would definately reccommend to those in the market for simple, no-fuss budget accomodation!
