“Excellent and very close to all sites”

I went with my mum and thouroughly enjoyed every experience. The hotel was easy to find, attached to another The Firenze, Receptionist very helpful. It was strangly set out but the room on the 1st floor was big enough for the both of us. It actually had 3 beds in. Very clean, apart from a stain on the carpet. The bathroom was very clean too. We arrived around 2.00 literally went up to our rooms and then went out, turned a corner and the Trevi Fountain was in front of us. We went past it every day and night, spectacular view back to the hotel. All the other sites are withing walking distance even the Vatican and the Colleseum.

The breakfast was upstairs and it was basic, cereal with rolls and croissants in a basket on the table with jams and butter, with coffee and juice, this was all served by two/three waitresses. If you want a plate, ask, they will give you one, otherwise just use the throw away paper they lay on the table, everyone else did. You can ask for as much coffee as you like. The room looked out on the street, noisy if you left the window open but quite during the night, in the morning the horse and traps clip clopped past our window to go to the spanish steps, it was lovely.

All in all we had a lovely stay in Rome, we did not really spend a lot of time in the hotel, just slept there and showered each morning. But I would recommend this Hotel even though the web site is very much exaggerated.

“Good Value, but not for Sheraton afficiandos”

I always stay at this hotel when in Rome. But, if you are a typical North American traveller, you have to alter your expectations. What I am looking for is a clean room and a private bath; I spend very little time in my hotel and have little need of all the useless amenities. This hotel is in an excellent location. Just a few metres from the Spanish Steps and an easy walk to the Trevi Fountain and many other Roman landmarks, easy access to Metro stations Spagna and Barbarini. This hotel was recommended to me years ago by an Italian friend and personally, I swear by it. The rooms are small...this is not unique in Europe! They are clean. The breakfast is basic...juice, coffee and breads. But the last thing I want to spend my travel budget on is a hotel, I'm never there. As for the towels, that a previous reviewer complained about: anyone I have taken there has found them intriguing. They aren't terry...more like table linens; but they are absorbant and clean and do the job they were intended for quite well, thank you! It's just a very minute detail that adds colourfully to the travel experience. As for having to ask for shampoo; I certainly would expect to bring my own when staying in a one star hotel. Like my header line says, this ain't the Sheraton- I'm glad its not!!! It is exceptionally good value, but if you expect champagne at beer prices; you are setting yourself up for disappointment and that isn't the hotels fault; you are just an idiot!!!

“Don't believe the pictures”

This hotel has nothing to do with the description and pictures on the hotel web site.
The room was VERY small - there was no curtain (!), so we used one of the (tacky) towels. We had to ask for shampoo and toilet paper.
Sleeping was basically impossible - bed and pillow apparently made of straw - very hard and uncomfortable. You could hear every sound in the hotel - especially from the violently squeaking and slamming doors.
The breakfast was eatable - the coffee however cold - but of the kind you would expect at a camping ground.
The location of the hotel is great, so if you just need a place for your suitcases - but not for yourself - this is the right place.

“Location, Location”

Great Location, 5 mins from Spanish Steps and 5-10 mins from Trevi Fountain, Via Vento with its nice restaurents/bars was 10 min walk, All the sights were within walking distance. The hotel is just a lobby with a bad staircase to an average room, but the price is cheap and if all you want is to see the sights in a good location or for a good price then this isn't a bad choice. The staff were friendly but be prepared, the lift is small and old and you can hear alot of noise (People, building work etc..)from the room, but again great location...6/10

“Not Palace at All”

I dissapointed with the hotel from the first minute I got in. To get in the floor sections, the stair and the corridors were very dirty, full of dump, it was like to be abandoned. In the floor section where our room was, as soon as you opened the door, the carpet smelt mold. In our room the toilet seat was broken and after a shower you had to wait 15-20 minutes for the water to be absorbed. The breakfast was awful, cold coffee and very small variety. Last but not least it was impossible to contact by phone the reception. They never answered the phone.
