“Exceptional Service and Great Rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2011
1
person found this review helpful

Reason for stars: Super clean, big rooms, and exceptional service

Rooms: Clean and modern. Free Wifi. TV with comfortable couch,

Location: Close to high end shopping and close to Spanish Steps.

Value: The staff was amazing. From the gentleman who prepares the breakfast to the concierge, they were all great. The place was only 2 rooms per floor so it was quite small but the units were very nice. When we pass through Rome again, we will definitely be staying here again.

“The rooms are tiny!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2010

Location-location-location! Besides this, our room was tiny! No room for luggage, a small wordrobe, no view. The elevator was so small that could lift only our 2 suitcases (we used the stairs!). If you are looking for a moderate convenient hotel in Rome, that could be your place. No more- no less...

“bait and switch”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2010

we booked two months in advance, prepaid. We confirmed three days before we arrived. The hotel offered to arrange a private car from the airport to the hotel (for euro60) and we accepted as it was a long flight. The car picked us up at the airport, took us to the hotel, and a woman met us at the curb outside the front door of the hotel and told us they were fully booked. Shouldn't we agree on Tripadvisor that any hotel that pulls this stunt should be blacklisted? It was the same excuse you see on every bait-and-switch complaint...she says the occupant of the room got sick and couldn't check out. My response was, fine, we booked for four nights, we will stay at your sister hotel tonight and tomorrow we can come back here. No. Sorry. We are booked then, too. The only redeeming point was that they sent us to their sister hotel, which was very nice, truly, I cannot recommend it enough (the Les Fleurs Luxury House), but imagine how awful it is to arrive at your hotel that you prepaid for months in advance and be met on the curb with your luggage and be told...sorry, fully booked. Being highly annoyed, I anonymously called Intown the next day and asked if I could reserve a room- I was told they had two rooms available! So, the woman had lied to me. On the curb, prepaid room, reserved months in advance, she lied. I understand why she lied- the sister hotel was so new it didn't even have a Tripadvisor review yet and they needed to get it some business.
Was it a nice hotel? Who knows!? I barely was able to get out of the car before she was making excuses.

“Good location but nothing else”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

We had nothing but problems with this hotel and I would not recommend or stay here again. However, the friends that we met had a better experience, so take my comments as you wish. The website only shows pics of the junior suite, which we did not book and our room was extremely small (nothing like the website). We travelled with carry-on so were ok, but if you had even one suitcase, it would not fit in the room alongside the bed. Also, be prepared to hear everything going on in the hotel, as the doors to the rooms are paper thin.

The man working the front desk in the afternoon had zero personality and in my opinion, should not be working in the hospitality industry. He was the most unhelpful front desk staff that I have ever come across - and this was my 6th hotel to stay in over a 3-week period!

I booked the room 3 days before our arrival and the price went down 40 euros per night so you will get a better deal if you wait to book (I booked a non-refundable rate).

On the plus side, the hotel was in a good location, although it was a bit tricky to find as the hotel sign is quite small and unnoticable (size of A4 paper).

“Hidden Gem in the Heart of Rome besite Via Condotti and Via Corso.. Fantastic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2010

This hotel was a complete surprise. The rooms are contemporary modern and well equipped..The location is absolutely fantastic. A few metres from the designer stores on Via Condotti and a short walk to the Spanish steps (three hundred metres) and close to everything.. Great location to use as a base to shop, tour or experience some of the gourmet delights. Many great restaurants are all around and Romanos is within 50 metres. The internet service is also very good, clean and FREE. In fact I'm using it now and used VOIP a few hours ago which was perfect. Don't expect any facilities though.. no gym or bar.. but certainly not needed.. This is not a hotel to relax in though the rooms are very good there is no lounge.. The also have Sky TV.. Highly recommended.. Service is also very friendly and efficient.. Enjoy
