Rome is known for being very expensive. We were looking for a BB that was around 70/75Euro per room/night (double) or 55/60 (single) and we found it!
The room had no ensuite bathroom, but that was not a problem, as it was just in front of our room. I was amazed by the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom and the spaciousness of the rooms (high cealings). Each room has TV and DVD and also Internet connection.
If travelling with friends, there are available rooms for up to 4/5 people, which makes your stay even cheaper!
The building is a very old house that is currently being renovated, but overall has been very well kept.
The management is very friendly and speaks fluent English. (He is a fan of skydiving!) In the morning he prepares a good coffee and offers you nice conversation.
You have your own keys to the main entrance and your room, which gives you lots of freedom.
The area is Via Nomentana, with very good access to Termini train station and buses going to all the main piazzas and fountains.
