Having stayed in Rome many times I've had all sorts of hotel experiences but this was the best. I stayed at Cernaia Suite with my sister last week for 5 nights, and am now returning to the hotel next weekend with my boyfriend.

The room was warm, comfortable and quiet and Renato, the owner, was very helpful.

Breakfast is basic but filling and we were given a choice of hot drinks and breakfast was delivered to our room at the time requested everyday. There is no breakfast room but I prefer eating in the room so it suited me perfectly.

The room was cleaned everyday, fresh towels brought and complimentary toiletries replaced.

We heard no noise from the other rooms, and with double glazed windows we heard very little exterior noise too.

Lots of local restaurants, the Termini is approx 10 mins away, and the main sights about 15-20 mins - a pleasant walk down Via Nazionale.

This is the first time I'll have been back to a hotel in Rome so that goes to show how impressed we were. A real gem!

My daughter and I stayed in Cernaia Suites for 5 days and had good experience.
The good:
- Clean quite room
- Room has all the amenities and looks recently refurbished
- Good location. Easy to get anywhere although a 1-2 mile distance from main attractions
- We got our own key and were independent in our coming and going
- Renato was very nice and helpful
The bad (not much)
- Breakfast is taken in the room where there is no real sitting area
- Breakfast is made wholly out of industrial food (except for the coffee). I looked forward to a fresh bread or even croissant but was disappointed
The breakfast is the reason I gave the service only 'average' grade

In general - definitely a good base for exploring Rome. Do not expect the stay at the hotel to be an experience by itself

I booked this hotel because the reviews were positive and the price very good. I was not disappointed.

It was a little tricky to find. However, the owner, Renato, found us! He did give good directions, but the building is unmarked.

The service was great, room (and bathroom) very nice, and breakfast small, but delicious. Overall, I enjoyed the hotel and am very glad I chose it!

Cernaia Suites is a small group of rooms in an apartment building. It's about a 12 minute walk from the Roma Termini train station. It is not as close to the major attractions but bus stops are close by and the metro is about a 10 minute walk away. The upside is a bit quieter neighborhood. The rooms are definitely very clean, which is probably our most important criteria for a hotel. There isn't a dining room - instead breakfast is served by the discreet staff in your room. Renato was very helpful, providing us with tips on our itinerary, places to eat in the area. When we arrived from the train station, he was even waiting outside to make sure we didn't miss the hotel. All in all, a good, well priced place to stay in Rome.
