I was booked into this hotel which is in the business district south of Rome, because it was half term and the other hotels were full. At first sight it is in a nice park on a hill and is a brand new build with spacious public areas based on a roman theme.
What a disappointment then the rooms - small and hard - marble floors (OK so that's Italian), one hard chair, nowhere to sit and work (TV on only table, only showing Italian channels), shower but no bath. Clean and adequate but that's about it. What's more - being in a park there were two five-a-side football pitches under my window which were nosily and lighted in operation at 22.30 - definitely need ear plugs and the AC which was not working.
Restaurant was furnished more like a cafe and the food was plain but all fresh and home cooked and tasty. The staff were very friendly which made up for some of the other disappointments. And there is readily available wifi.
It's about 15 minutes walk from the metro station.
