“Great location from which to see Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

We stayed at Obelus flor 4 nights in October. The bedroom (3) was clean and comfortable with en suite, air conditioning, tv and hairdryer. There is also a small dining room and kitchen where our hostess Monika served a more than adequate breakfast (juice, toast, cheese, cold meats, croissant, jams, cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit & coffee). As we had to leave early on our final day Monika left cereal, yoghurts, fruit and juice in the fridge so we could help ourselves. The dining room also has a kettle and tea and coffee so you can help yourself and also an honesty bar for wine and cold drinks. Monika was extremely helpful in advising where to eat and visit even phoning attractions to book tickets for us. We were also able to use the hotel computer to check in and print off our boarding cards online which saved us quite some time at airport.

The hotel is a little way from the centre of Rome, but only 10 minutes walk from the Colisseum and 3 mins from the metro so combines a nice quiet location with ease of access to the main attractions. There are plenty of good quality restaurants and bars within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed the gelato at L'800.

A good value option for a visit to Rome

Room Tip: Room 3 quite small, but more than adequate for short stay and very quiet as not overlooking street

“Great price, staff, and room!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

Our trip to rome started on a bad note when my father was pickpocketed at the rome termini station. Our family felt pretty down about the situation until we arrived at obelus. The friendly staff/owner went out of their way to drive us to the police station for us to file the pickpocketing related report, and also translate (yes, none of the police can speak english!) of our situation.

For the price, this place was had good value because of the room size, cleanliness, quality of furniture, and location. It close to the metro and public transit, so you can go pretty much anywhere, where a tourist would want to go. There are also some great restaurants within 15minute walks. I would come here again!

“The best way to see Rome”

We stayed at Obelus for 4 nights in October. The location was perfect. 3 minuts from the metro station, 10 minute walk to the Colleseum, and from there most of Rome is in a walking distance. The location is just by the center of Rome, but far enough so a lot of good untouristic authentic resteraunts are around (we reccomend Merulana caffe, 5 minutes away). The room was clean and cute. There was a private bathroom in the room. The bed was very comfortable. There also was an airconditioner and a hair dryer in the room. Breakfast was simple but lovely. The beautiful staff lady Monica was very friendly and extremly helpful. The atmoshpere was quiet, and home-like. Our new home away from home in Rome.

“Nice accomodations!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

We stayed at Obelus for 3 nights in September. There were three of us, so our room had one single bed and a double bed. The double looked as if they were simply two twins placed together. The location was fantastic. The metro station was a 5-7 min walk. From there, we could access any place in Rome. The rooms were clean and simple.

Monica was our hostess, and she was delightful. She served a continental breakfast, along with coffee and/or juice. She was helpful in giving us a map of the city and she also encouraged certain places to see.

“Obelus Hotel Rome”

Fantastic bed and breakfast. Walking distance to all the sights and close to the Metro. The owners are delightful. Rooms are basic, comfortable and excellent value. Our family of four stayed six nights and felt most welcome. Breakfast was a lovely way to start the day.
