This hotel is an ultra-quiet neighbourhood close to the Vatican. The room was clean and had a nice view of some nearby balconies. The check in was easy. The cost was suprisingly reasonable.
The hotel has a lot of statuary that give it a pleasant ambience. My room was microscopic but had a little foyer with steps down to a narrow bedroom and up to narrow, well-equipped bathroom.
It was sometimes friendly and sometimes infuriatingly brusque depending on which desk clerk was on duty. The only Internet connection is in the guest lobby. I quietly skyped my family from there and the clerk hissed at me to keep the "noise" down. A short while later he had a soccer game blasting at the desk. He at least had the grace to be embarassed for an instant when I pointed out the unfairness of his behaviour but I saw the same behaviour again and again here. The desk clerks sometimes left a lot to be desired in their attitude. During my brief stay,I witnessed other issues of concern that were handled poorly by the desk staff some of whom were shockingly disrepectful.
This hotel was a good value but the possibility of theft is probably a reality in many Roman venues. USE THE IN-ROOM SAFE! There is a very nice shopping district nearby on Via Cola di Rienzo. The metro is a short walk and keenwalkers can easily find their way to the main sights of classic Rome from this hotel.
