“Noisy, cold and unfriendly staff. Not a good experience.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2009

My husband would not recommend this Bed and Breakfast. First of all, no one was there to greet us or check us in. The manager/ owner of the resident was rude and confrontational, not only to us but he was raising his voice at the other guests. He has another job that he is at all the time so in the mornings he demanded his money and raised his voice at us. He has one assistant/ maid but she did not know how to speak a word of English. The towels are hard and dirty, the room was very NOISY and cold. We couldn't wait to check out of this place. The rooms are big and the location is decent and there is free internet.

“Almost perfect!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2008

This is a wonderful little B&B 5 minutes walk from the church of St. Peter, and 10 min. to the spanish steps and all the other sights. Enrico, the owner, is very helpful and speaks well English. The rooms are big and nice with clean, own bathrooms. Internet is for free in the hall. The only negative is the noise from the traffic outside from appr. 8 am, but if you wake up early for sightseeing, this won't bother you much. The other problem is that the door in to the rooms are thin, so we felt that we couldn't make to much noise before we disturbed the other ones living there. But we didn't hear any sounds ourselves. All in all, I would absolutely stay there again!

“Hidden Jem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2008

My financee and i stayed in Apr 2008 for 4 nights. Situated ten mnutes fron the Spanish Steps, which gave an excellant location. Our apartment was beautiful with a lovely balconey . On our arrival a small bottle of wine was awaiting which was an unexpected surprise.
Enrico was very helpful and could not do enoughto help . Definately give this holiday 10 out of 10 and will be back next year.

“English to Italian = no booking”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2007

We had booked to stay at AntiquaRoma in the same way as I have booked with a long list of hotels/hostels around the world. Sadly what was in very clear English a reservation to stay did not translate into Italian according to the man who greeted us. We were told we did not have a reservation. I read about this sort of thing happening, especially in Italy but I didn't think it would happen to me as I am very clear in how I book.

On a positive note the owner, although not apologetic, did call a friend at a nearby place "Marta's Guesthouse" and promptly got us a booking for the same amount of money and drew us a map of how to get there & it turned out to be very nice.

On another good note to anyone wanting to stay here, the corridor we saw looked very pretty and clean, it has a lift up to it's floor & the area is very good.

“Good location, Clean room and bathroom and Friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2006

Stayed here with my mum from October 7 till October 10 and was very pleasantly surprised.
Good Location very near to the Vatican. Crossing the River you are near to Pantheon and Spanish steps etc
Room and bathroom were very clean. Friendly staff. You get your own key to enter downstairs, to the appartment and to your room. You hardly noticed there are other guests staying there. Our room had the bathroom in the hallway but this was no problem at all. All other rooms have the bathrooms ensuite.
No double glazing so it can be a bit noisy especially on the Saturday night with traffic so earplugs might be an idea but we were so tired after walking around Rome the whole day that we fell asleep okay.
Breakfasts is brought to your room in the morning and you can choose what time you want to have it between 8 and 10.
I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Rome!
