“Good base for exploring Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012 via mobile

Don't listen to all the people moaning about the Milton. It is a clean, comfortable and very well-situated base for exploring Rome. Okay, so it isn't right in the centre but it is directly opposite Manzoni Metro station, on the 3 tram route and serviced by several bus routes. The breakfast selection is good and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. I'd stay again, even without a kettle in the room.

“Really Good Experience......”

Hotel is in a very convenient location, metro which is easy and cheap to use is across the road.
Rooms clean, breakfast excellent and the staff are very friendly with great English.
Only draw back was the street noise. You will struggle if you are a light sleeper. Ear plugs were enough for me to block the background noise.
If you are just looking for a base for your trip then the Milton is excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Try to book room at the rear of the hotel

“Great for the money!”

Nice hotel, very conveniently located across the street from Manzoni metro station! Breakfast is excellent! Staff is helpful and courteous, great English. Only cons are that it is slightly on the outskirts of major attractions; there are few restaurants nearby; the street noise and trolley noise on Via Emanuele Filberto are horrible! If you want to sleep past 6:00 am, then this is not your place.

Overall had a great stay there, and for the money, you can't go wrong!

“A good base for a trip to Rome.”

This hotel will serve as an excellent base for a trip to Rome. The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious and private. The hotel is located next to a tube station and around 10 minutes walk from the coliseum. Great if you need a place to stay for a weekend city break.

“Disappointing - staff unhelpful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Four star hotel with no kettle or tea making facilities in room, despite this part of the room description and in photos on their website.. when I asked the staff we rude and said they dont have kettles. So I asked for a coffee to be sent up bit no refreshments available until 7pm at night! I did find the staff generally unhelpful and uninterested, they spent the day on the front desk browsing on the internet!
Our room was VERY NOISY as many others have pointed out.
Also I would say the location isnt very good - although close to a metro station they metro network isnt great in Rome. Also 10 minute walk to the colosseum and forum but I would say not within walking distance to pretty much everything else in Rome, including a good selection of restaurants.
Saying all this the room was clean, breakfast good, just perhaps not a 4-star hotel worth the price they charge..
