Instead of putting us in the hotel as promised over the internet and phone, they put us into an apartment a block and a half away, saying we'd be moved to the hotel the next day. That would have been ok, except the floors hadn't been cleaned and were pretty disgusting. Plus, there was no internet, no lobby, phone, or other hotel services. That evening we find a note from Roberto saying he'd like us to stay in the apartment for the second night, too. (We never even got to enter the hotel or see the lobby, as Roberto met us at the door when we arrived). We found another one nearby that was cheaper and cleaner (Hotel Elide) 65 euros for 4 people, so we decided to move for the second night. We informed Roberto and he said he was sorry, and that we would "be his guest" and not be charged for the first night (hopefully he comes through on his promise, since he has our credit card info--if not you'll hear about it here). He did manage to get in a little comment about Americans once we cancelled our second night, but he was friendly overall. I'm not a spoiled American--I've stayed hostels all over the world, traveled extensively in the third world, I've even slept on concrete floors with no sheets or pillows and not complained at all. What I didn't like was the bait-and-switch. You view these beautiful pictures on the internet, expect to stay at the place you see (agree to pay 100 euro a night). A contract is a contract!

I was with my Girlfriend at the Matisse B&B in Rome.
Roberto was very friendly and helped us where he could.
He gave us a City Map and described the sightseeing in detail.
Our room was gorgeus.It was the anniversary of me and my girlfriend so it was a very romantic,clean,quite ( double glazed windows ) ,warm and nice decorated room.
The breakfast is also very nice. You can eat whenever you want. Coffee,tea, juice,croissants & co. are there for a big breakfast.
I would reccomend this hotel to everyone. Its very central. only maximum 8 minutes walk to every sightseeing! Never was in a hotel that is next to everything.

We would defintely recommend this amazing B&B and will be going back soon. The location is central for all public transport, sightseeing, shopping, restaurants and night life.The rooms are cozy and you can have breakfast at any time during the day so it feels like a really relaxing break.The building is beautiful and full of character. The host Roberto is a warm welcoming person. His hospitality is outstanding and he has a lovely positive energy about him. He went out of his way to be kind to us and made our stay very enjoyable. He recommended fabulous good quality restaurants for us where the food was top class! He was so helpful at all times to all the guests. The atmosphere was so warm and homely that we did not want to leave. I would definitely recommend this B&B, it is excellent value for money! and the hospitality of Roberto is outstanding. Roberto I cannot thank you enough for a wonderful stay. I will never forget it. Thank you.
