HE thrw the register book at us and started saying all full. even though we told him we had confirmation he didnot give us a room. Terrible people no manners nevery stay there. so not trust these guys.

“Rip OFF!!! Never stay here”

Never ever stay here!!! After thinking I was ok going through Expedia and getting a hotel reserved online, I traveled to Rome. When I got there I exited the station walked a few blocks to this hotel. It was very late I just wanted to check in. Immediately I knew I was in trouble as the owner of the Hotel demanded cash for the stay. 290 euros in one lump sum.... Uh no way dude.
I told him he had my credit card, gave him the confirmation code which he did not understand because he did not speak english. So I pulled out my expedia reservation sheet. Still he demanded cash. Knowing I was in trouble I just left. And found a wonderful hotel down the street known as the Hotel Ariston.
Never stay here very shaddy place. And oh try to avoid the expedia deals.

  • Disliked — Horrible and they will still rip you off. They ended up charging my credit card.

“Sunshine House in Shady Area”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2007

I stayed at the Sunshine House for 4 nights. Well, the building the Sunshine House is in. We were booked to stay at the Sunshine House, but we were put into two other hotels in the same building. The man who works the night shift is ancient, and marginally helpful, although he would not let us use the phone, when two other people who work at the desk had told us we could, because the phones in the rooms only work inside the hotel. The elevator looks terrifying, but it works fine. Bathroom was decently clean, although not great. The whole building was a little dirty, actually. The rooms had airconditioning units, but they were not functional, and so we had to keep our window open because of the heat. Unfortunately, that meant that our window was open to the busy street by the train station, and it was pretty noisy. Overall, the hotel was mediocre, not horrible... What made it horrible was the location. The building is located very near the train station, and the area is very shady. There were dozens of homeless people, tons of garbage, and the whole area smelled like urine. I was afraid to walk around the area after dark with another girl. I would never stay in the area near the train station again, because it was truly scary and extremely filthy.

“Waste of money (110 EUR / night)”

Bathroom tiny and no fresh towels when old ones obviously not to be used anymore. No hair-dryer. Very unfriendly man at the desk. Hotel hard to find - in the fith floor with a dangerous lift.

All the nights have to be paid at arrival CASH even thought the door is full of VISA,.... stickers....

In the mornings there was a very nice young lady which was the only sunshine in that hotel. Thanks to her we afterall enjoyed our stay.

  • Liked — The young lady at the front desk in the mornings

“Never ever ever stay here”

The Caput Mundi is Caput
It was October, Rome was packed, I had to stay two nights in the city for work and I was forced to stay at the Caput Mundi when nothing else was available. Now I wish I would have slept on a park bench.
My twin room was so narrow it had two beds arranged head to toe and it was impossible to make it from one end of the room to the other without climbing over furniture. Because of the room set-up only one person could watch TV at a time and there was nowhere in the room to put luggage.
The hotel staff were unhelpful and rude; the hotel was noisy; and we were kept awake by the night porter having loud arguments with guests and smoking endless cigarettes directly outside our room.
To top it off, I attempted to pay by credit card, but the receptionist told me my card was defective (after swiping it) and insisted I pay cash. I ended up paying twice for the priveledge of staying in this hell hole.
Do not stay at this hotel under any circumstances.

  • Liked — Checking Out
  • Disliked — Room and facilities
  • Tips/Secrets — Avoid this hotel at all costs and do not pay by credit card
