“Very Nice Hotel for the Area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

You can't beat this hotel for location from the Termini Station just a 5 min walk out the front accross the bus station and main road. So the journey from Fiumicino is very easy by train just jump on the Leonardo Express and you are there approx 30 mins later (€14 per head each way).
The hotel is in a quiet road opposite the bus station but like any area with a large train and bus station it has its odd characters and with major building/excavation works opposite the station could be considered not the best part of town. The hotel/bedroom was spotless and well furnished, good size bedroom ours looked out over the front of the hotel and had shutters if we wanted to use them. Bed was large and comfy and bathroom modern and very clean. Breakfast provides a good variety of some hot and all the usual cold things (cereal, fruit, cheese, meats etc.). You can order freshly squeezed orange juice for free - recommended! Staff are very friendly and helpful and we got great service at their bar with late night drinks, the porter was also very keen to help with the cases and wasn't looking for money just to be helpful. I've also just received an email at home from the hotel hoping we had an enjoyable holiday and stay - nice touch. Great hotel, good travel location, just a pity the local area wasn't a bit nicer.

Room Tip: It is a small hotel so don't think any of the rooms are bad.

“Made travel so much easier”

The close proximity to Termini is great for those traveling by train and if you plan to use the Metro. The neighborhood is close to the Baths of Diocletion, but it is a bit of a walk to the coliseum, pantheon, piazza navona, etc. we used the metro from termini and had no problem getting around.
The hotel staff was amazing! They were nice and accommodating. When we needed to miss the included breakfast for an early flight - they made us breakfast bags. The room was perfect for our needs, clean with a nice bathroom. Free Internet is definitely a perk for American travelers.

“The Best Quality/Value Accommodation In Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

I was returning to Rome in late November after five years, and last time I stayed in a budget hotel that had it's quirks. So I decided to splurge a little more this time, and after looking at all the options, I liked the location and perceived quality of the Hotel Diocleziano.

And I was not disappointed - I would not even bother looking for another hotel in Rome, as HD suited all my needs. I like the idea of being close to Roma Termini (train station), and this hotel couldn't get much closer, with it being located virtually across the road.

The rooms were excellent, proof that you get what you pay for in Europe. The room I had was massive, with a large anteroom and bathroom. I slept well there, and only woke to my alarm. The wi-fi was steady and did not disconnect at any time during my stay. I am returning to Rome in February and have booked again at HD.

The hotel is right next door to the side walls of the villa that forms part of Diocletian's Baths, and was handy when I had an hour or so to kill before taking the train to Fiumicino Airport (the hotel even gave me a late check-out). I could get to the centre of old Rome (forum) very quickly by train, and reasonably quickly by foot, as it was a walk down the Via Cavour.

The breakfast is a buffet, and while I usually don't like buffets, this one was ok, and I got a decent breakfast. The staff were very helpful, and although they hadn't readied my room when I arrived at about 1pm, I went and got some lunch and came back, and my luggage was in the room waiting for me.

I would recommend any traveller looking for good accommodation in the 3-4 star bracket to look no further.

“Excellent Address”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

We are 4 friends, we bought 3 nights at Diocleziano in January 2012 through Booking.com
The hotel is well located within a walking distance from Termini Station, and 300 metres from Via Del Corso Metro station.
The room was correct in size and very clean.
Breakfast was not very varied but correct.
We appreciated the friendly and very helpful attitude of the reception staff , specially Theodore, always ready to find a solution and give an advice.
A very good address to stay in Rome and discover the city at a reasonable price.

“Great hotel with wonderful service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

We stayed two nights & found all the staff very friendly, helpful & interested in what we asked. They seemed proud of their wonderful city. We had the only room on the 5th floor - warm, clean & spacious. Breakfast was good, with a good selection of hot & cold food. Good location - all the main sites within walking distance with the main train & bus terminal - where all the tour buses started from - about eight minutes walk. The Metro was here as well. We would definitely stay here again.
