“Nice place for independent types.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2010

My partner and I stayed here recently. Good place to stay if you plan on taking the metro around. We found walking from there to some of the sites, however, to be too much. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and I liked the fact that we could feel independent. The availability of food and drinks at any time is great, and really helped when we got back late and exhausted at the end of the day. Note that the top room has a very narrow flight of steps leading to it, which might be difficult for people with heavy luggage. The area might steer away people who are not used to grittier urban life but we found the people around to be harmless. Just try to avoid the scamming taxi drivers at the station - we only took a taxi 3 times and each time they tried something on us.

Overall, this place is great if you want a cheap and clean place to stay. Would recommend.

“Great BB in the heart of Roma and close to the train station”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2010

Clean, safe, well kept, well located, Gaetano and Anna offer great service, etc.

Sleep quality is pretty good because of the windows, which are made to block sound. But hey, Roma is noisy, the Romans are noisy, its a lively place, so can't really complain.

Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

“Very Convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2010

The B&B is very close to the train station and you can easily walk there with no problems and easy to find.
Our room was cosy, not very big but very clean and comfortable.
The rooms were cleaned every day .
Breakfast is supplied in the meals area, with plenty of cereals, jams, fruit juice and bread to help yourself, you are able to use the fridge and the kitchen, although their is a stove there, he did say the we were not to use it... (don't know why)
The bathroom was very clean, the only problem we had was that we didn't have a plug (stopper) for the sink, he tried to get one but couldn't find one that fit, so we had to make to without for the week we stayed there.

There is a very old elevator....might put you off, but very safe & reliable , we didn't have a problem with it.... but it is very narrow and small..
We were also able to use the internet free of charge, that is there for all the residents to use.
There was a problem at one point with the net but Gaetano gave us his card and after he was called came to fix the problem the next day.

The building is very safe and you needn't worry about any of that sort of thing..

“Good value and location”

It has been a little while since we stayed here but I wanted to just add my opinion as I have been recommending this little place to my friends. When we first arrived at the front door you think - why did we pick here? It is on a small street close to the main train station, you will probably pass quite a few beggars and have to avoid being run over by crazy moped drivers (but that is Rome isn't it). You then enter and are confronted by many flights of stairs (you can take the lift - but we are stubborn) but when you actually enter the place it is just lovely! Our room was really clean and modern looking and our friends stayed just accross the hall in a similarly appointed room. We stayed in mid June and it was very hot but in our rooms we couldn't even tell as the air conditioning was superb!! Although we didn't see much of the lady who runs the B+B, she was very helpful and even e-mailed us prior to our trip to make sure she was available for when we arrived.

We found that the location of the place was just perfect as everything begins and ends at the main train station. We found the buses quite confusing but we always knew that if we messed it up, we would at some point end up back at the station. The Sixty three B+B is only 5 minutes walk from the station and although at first we were worried about the beggars, we travelled through this area at all times of the day and night and did not feel threatened at all. Also very useful is the information points and shops that are available at the train station and the buses that take you to the airport.

Finally I would like to add that there was internet access in the B+B and the breakfast was of continental style, don't expect service though as it is only a small place. It is a laid out for you on the tables and you just help yourself and leave all your pots for the maid to clean (we washed them the first day as we felt bad). Just to add, this is probably not the place for you if you would like a concierge and staff running around after you night and day but superb if you want a cheap, clean, well located place to rest your head then I would thoroughly recommend it and I would definately stay there again!!!
