“Great staff, superb location, rooms a little on the small side”

The hotel has a handful of rooms and occupies one floor of a building. The location was perfect and round the corner from one of the main squares and was perfectly safe at all times of the day and night. We managed to walk to all the major sights from here. Rooms and bathroom were clean and tidy however for the price the room was on the small side. It was pretty cramped once you had your suitcase on the floor. The staff were always friendly. We had no noise issues at all. I thoroughly recommend the hotel, but if I were to return to Rome I would probably see if I could pick up something cheaper and better before I chose to stay here again.

“Loved the location and the staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2009

We loved the look of the place and especially the location. We were within walking distance from all the major tourist sites and right around the corner from the Piazza Navono. The place was nice and quiet the way we wanted it.

The building itself was lovely and quaint. To get to check in and to get to our room, we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs. It might be kind of tough to lug a bunch of suitcases up the stairs, but luckily we packed light The front desk person was very friendly and made an effort to speak English. They were very accommodating and offered us a nice cool beverage while we waited for the couple in front of us to check out. The room was a nice size but a little dark but not unpleasant.

One thing that I would advise if you use this place is make sure you bring your key because there is no night staff and the place is completely closed if you come back to your room late. My husband and I came back from a late night supper and we could not find the key. We kept knocking but no one answered. Eventually we found the key and was able to open the front door. The staff really went out of their way even after we checked out and headed back to Florence. My husband had forgotten to take the batter charger out of the wall and left it at the Locando Senatorum. When we called to ask if it was still there, the Manager was kind enough to not only find it for us but she also Fed X'd it to us over night to our Hotel in Florence. Wow! what great service. Thank you Locando Senatorum! We had a very lovely stay.

“Fanatastic hotel in great location...........loved it...........”

I found this gem of a hotel using the airmiles.co.uk website and also checked the reviews here on Tripadvisor for a trip to Rome with my wife. This joint is excellent value ......right in the middle of the historical centre......it is literally 2 minutes walk to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Everything is more or less walkable easily ..............from here we went to the Vatican and also the colleseum on foot. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and our room (room 4) was fab. Not the biggest room I have ever stayed in but it had a huge king size bed, an LCD TV with free Sky TV, lovely soft towels, slippers, air con and a well stocked mini bar. The mini bar is worth mentioning because the items were all very cheap, as if you were buying them in a supermarket. I recommned staying here for a great room in a fab location at extremely cheap prices (for Rome). The breakfast was also interesting, you get a voucher for a delicious croissant or sandwich and coffee or fruit juice at a cafe just round the corner, very nice also.

“Great Place to Stay”

My wife, our 18 month old boy and I, stayed at this hotel in the first week of May and had a great experience. We had a great experience. The staff was very helpful and courteous. They want out of the way to get things for us that we needed for the baby. Room was clean.
It is a great location. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend to anyone who is visiting Rome. Only limitation is that it is on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators. Assuming that you are packed light this should not be a big problem.

For us it was a great experience.

“Location, Location, Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2008

After my first trip to Rome in 2003 I quickly learned that the most important detail in booking a hotel in Rome is to be far from the Termini Train Station. There are number of areas to choose from but being close to the Piazza Navona is especially nice when you have a short visit in Rome. My fiancee and family stayed here for only one night in October in an effort to squeeze in some time in my favorite European city on our way up north to Siena.

The staff was very friendly and allowed space to store our bags during the day. They had wonderful restaurant recommendations and were happy to call cabs for us. The bathrooms were phenomenal which is important after flying all night and arriving in warm weather.

The rooms were clean and quiet and they came with vouchers for a complimentary local Italian breakfast of croissants and espresso - the breakfast of champions for weary travelers!

Considering its prime location near the Piazza Navona and all the little "extras" (slippers, hard candy and breakfast), we wished we could have stayed longer.

The only complaint was having to walk our suitcases up a few flights of stairs however it was well worth it to be safe and comfortable.
