“Room with "EXTRAS"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2008

Folks, we're speechless. Small room, even by Italian standards, windows opening into a courtyard. You have the pleasure of hearing neighbours' TVs and other noises that echo through the courtyard into your own room, along with doors slamming, bottles being dropped into a garbage/recycling area, etc, etc. Even at E 100/night it felt like the rip off of the century. We did think of moving to another B&B or hotel, however, without having access to the Internet, and two days from going home, we just grind and put up with it.

The bathroom is small, but that was not the issue. The location of the shower makes it very difficult to not splash water outside the shower "enclosure". The shared wall between the bathroom and where the proprietor lives has glass privacy blocks which became quite annoying when the light was left on the whole night which illuminated our own room. The proprietor owns a dog, which you will smell upon entering her hallway.

The few positives are the there is a small fridge which is replenish with yogurt and juices boxes, both which you can take away for a mid-morning snack, and the proximity to ancient Roma.

If you are a looking for a clean bed, where you can crash every night this might the place for you. Be warned, the noises from the courtyard will likely keep you awake.

“Lovely and spacious, great breakfast and location, great couple”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2008

Really pleasant stay in my favorite Roman neighborhood--Trastevere! Live like a local but you're still close enough walking distance to the river and across to the rest of Rome. We stayed in the suite, which was super spacious--huge kitchen, large bath. Clean and cute, with a vaguely Eastern kind of decor. Proprietors brought coffee and breakfast each morning. Highly recommended!

“A recommendable B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2006

A very pleasant experience. Location is excellent in Trastevere. Close to a big road with tram and buses, but we walked pretty much everywhere (Vatican, Trevi, etc). The area is packed with restaurants and bars and seems to be an area that the locals prefer too.

There are three rooms in the B&B and we stayed in the green one with A/C which was a necessary must in the heat of July. The room was cleaned every day and the bathroom seemed to have been renovated recently. The location in quiet.

There is a tv, fridge, hairdryer and towels in the room. Breakfast was waiting outside the room every morning and included tea, coffee, yogurt, bread (dry), marmelade and cakes. There was also teabags/coffee in the room and a kettle.

I agree with the previous poster that one day the entrance smelled a bit "doggy" but that didn't affect the room. :-)

“Great location, so-so self-serve breakfast...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2006

The location of this B&B is fantastic - in Trastevere which is a quiet, vibrant neighbourhood filled with beautiful restaurants. The B&B is located in a high rise apartment on the 2nd floor - easy to get to and secure. The room was very clean but the entrance hallway into the unit was very smelly - perhaps from the owner's dog, who knows. The driving directions we received from the owner were really horrible, so please get yourself a map before you head to Kimama! All in all it was a pleasant stay. Breakfast was self serve. We had to make our own coffee and the food was all packaged and nothing fresh. It was acceptable but definitely not anything to write home about. If you're looking for something in a quieter zone, this is the place to stay.
