Mona Lisa was a small converted 2nd floor Roman apartment into a hostel. It had 3 large rooms for 8-10 dorm beds and a girls only dorm. There was also a private room for a small family. There were 2 clean bathrooms and smoking was only allowed outside on the small terrace.
The hostel was located a 30min walk from Stazione Termini toward the west so close to the tourist sights in a quiet back street, one block from Via Nazionale. It felt like a safe area and there were many good Tratorias that wouldn't charge the earth despite its location. It was convenient for walking to all the sights and I felt almost like a Roman living there.
This was a nice quiet hostel if you like your sleep, unless there were early risers. There was a 3am curfew.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and a laugh. There was also free internet access and lots of powerpoints for charging batteries.
Breakfast was a light continental of croissant, toast, coffee and juice. The kitchen is there if you want to make a little more.
Recommended if you like a convenient and quiet place to stay.
