“Great place”

We stayed at both the hotel and the "Bed and Breakfast". The bed and breakfast rooms were a little roomier than the hotel, but both were excellent rooms. Very clean and well kept. A breakfast is included and is a very good meal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a great patio on top of the hotel that has a great view of the Vatican, a nice way to end the day with a glass of great Italian wine. Just about everything is walking distance and/or easy to get to via the subway. We ended up here based on a Rick Steve's recommendation from his book after a rental apartment reservation turned out to be really bad. We spent more on the hotel than we would have on the apartment, but the location and excellent accommodations and breakfast was well worth the price.

“Highly Recommend - Superior Staff, Accomodations and Location”

Our group of 9 family members, ranging in age from 16 to 75, booked 4 rooms and spent 8 nights starting December 23, 2011at the Hotel Alimandi Vaticano. We chose this hotel due the value and to the proximity to the Vatican where we would be spending much time. Due to the duration of our stay, we were able to get a great feel for the hotel. The front desk staff of Irene, Nico and Fabiana are absolutely the best you will find anywhere. They are all extremely courteous, helpful and knowledgeable about most everything you would need to know for your stay in Rome. We miss them already! The hotel serves a very fine breakfast buffet of the highest quality. Again, the restaurant staff and food selection are both excellent. All 4 of our rooms were located on the 2nd floor. Three of our rooms faced either the side or rear of the hotel while one of our rooms was located on the Via Vaticano facing the Vatican Museum. While muted traffic noise was experienced in the other rooms, the room located on Via Vaticano was quite noisy with scooters buzzing up and down the street almost incessantly. We would recommend avoiding rooms facing the Vatican Museum unless you are not bothered by traffic noise or have an ample supply of Ambien. The trade-off with that room however, is that it was located closest to the router and therefore had the best Wi-Fi access. Wi-Fi in the other rooms was somewhat spotty. The rooms themselves were all clean and nicely furnished. Bathrooms are clean, contain blow dryers, towel warmers and 110v outlets. The beds have great, firm mattresses. The rooms also contain safes for storing valuables. All-in-all, we were very pleased with our selection of this hotel and would strongly recommend it to anyone spending time in Rome.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on Via Vaticano due to traffic noise. All other rooms just fine.

“Great hotel and great location”

This hotel is right across from the Vatican and close to several great restaurants. The rooms are small (as in all Rome hotels) but nice. Very good breakfast. Hotel can book a car to and from airport - although it will be quite expensive if you have a very early flight. You might want to keep this in mind as you make your flight reservations. Otherwise, use the early car. It is worth the extra that it will cost.

“Exceding expectations”

My wife and I spent four nights here in November 2010. Everything was as advertised, and more. A superb location, opposite the entrance to the Vatican Museums, coupled with a beautiful building in a classic Italian style. From previous trips to Europe I was expecting the typical smallish room, but was pleasantly surprised by a very large room at the front of the Hotel overlooking the Vatican. Even the bath was large and very stylishly appointed, with lots of glass and marble. The included breakfast was superb with very extensive choices from breads to meats and cheeses, to bacon, ham, a variety of eggs and much, much more.

We found the service to be great, the staff friendly, and the premises very clean, including the room. There is even a small bar for a pre or post dinner drink. A real bonus is the location, within walking distance of a great variety of restaurants, as well as the Metro. A rooftop patio was great for views and relaxing.

The Hotel was by no means inexpensive, but definitely worth the cost, as I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. We would surely stay here again.

“location, staff, and service all great”

The location of his hotel was the reason I booked it, as my mother is elderly. The rooms and staff far exceeded my expectations. the hotel is literally steps from the vatican museum. I wish I could remember the name of the sweet woman at the front desk who was so helpful in pointing out a great and inexpensive restaurant around the block and shopping areas for us.
