When I first saw the place I was a bit disappointed to say the least BUT the chap on the front desk was very helpful and welcoming. His English was not very good but then again my Italian is non-existent and I am in their country so who is in the wrong!? The location was brilliant because we walked everywhere and saw everything but we knew that the train was there should we need it i.e. The Vatican. Breakfast was minimal and having read the reviews before our trip we had decided that we would eat somewhere else – by the 2nd day we were given vouchers to eat at the Travellers Café just down the road where the coffee and pastries were lovely, we didn’t ask for this and they didn’t have to provide it so it was a big bonus. The room was very basic (not the sort of place to sit in and watch telly for a couple of hours) but this was a good thing because we had gone to Rome to see the city not stay inside, and on the few occasions it rained we made ourselves go out and find the most amazing hidden away restaurants making the memories of our stay unforgettable for all the right reasons. All in all you get what you pay for and having spent less on the accommodation we could afford to enjoy ourselves when eating out and visiting attractions.

Like most of the other reviewers, we chose this hotel based on it's proximity to the Termini station and the Terravision Bus stop. We landed in Rome at 10:30 pm with 2 young kids. We took the bus from the airport and arrived at Art Mary within 40 minutes. We quickly checked in and were in our room way before midnight. This fact in itself made this hotel ideal.
The quad room was spacious and clean. It was by far the cheapest 4 person room we found in all of Rome.
The shower did loose some pressure but honestly I was not buying the place so big deal...
Breakfast was ok, do not expect bacon and eggs folks. A croissant, some crackers and bread. A good cup of coffee or 2 and some juice. Just enough to get you going in the morning.
This was our 3rd time in Rome and we found the hotel's location much better than all the other places we stayed in.(Vatican and the Spanish steps) This location allowed us to walk the whole city within a day.
There was good restaurants and cafes all around Termini, pretty surprising because in most other cities we've been to the train stations really have lousy food.
1 piece of advice is that there are so many people walking around I would just be careful with all your belongings.

Spent two nights at Art Mary. The room was clean and big enough. It is across the street from the train station and very close to the main attractions in Rome.

We booked this hotel a few months in advance through an internet booking site. Special rate, breakfast, confirmation by credit card number, looked great.
BUT: When we arrived early evening we were told that the woman that handles the reservations (who wasn't there at that moment, too bad) had done mistakes, so all rooms where taken. But the man had made a reservation at the hotel of his brother (or cousin, I can't remember, they didn't look like related), across the street. The rooms of the Art Mary looked reasonable,but the other hotel was impressing, I won't even describe it - worst hotel I've been in my life. For 100 Euros!! Without breakfast!! We had to negotiate to pay the rate we had booked, to get our breakfast, pay in advance, cash... When we dared to complain at the Art Mary hotel we were told quite rudely: "it's the other hotel or nothing" - that's hospitality and service, isn't it? (it was the weekend of the Rome marathon, so no chance at all to get any other hotel)
Funny that our friends that had booked way after us, that even arrived after us, did get their room. Maybe because the guy preferred Spaniards (we're French), or maybe they had a less advantageous rate?
