“This is FAULTY TOWERS”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2011

Went to this hotel this month and here are the bare facts. The hotel is the noisiest place i have ever stayed. Be prepared to be awake until everyone goes asleep, and be awakened when somebody gets up early which is about 6am. The hotel has no sound proofing at all and when someone walks its just like they are in the room with you. Also the hotel is in the sticks, meaning miles from anywhere (1 hour to city centre by bus and rail). Breakfast is served between 7am and 10 am which is fairly meagre. After 10am you cannot purchase any coffee, tea at this place at all. You have to visit a tiny pizzeria called more games Jolly Pizza to purchase anything after breakfast. There is no bar at all so if like us you come back around 7pm you have nowhere to go and nothing to do unless you fancy a pizza in Jollys. Also the television has no working english channels, one german and one italian. I am not a crank and have travelled a lot and this is the first time i have really complained about where i have stayed. My advice is dont go there, and if you do you will remember this review and wish you had taken more notice.

“Better than expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2011

okay so once you arrive at campino airport you can go outside and wait at the 2nd stop, get on the first bus there and the ticket is 1.20 euro per person. get off at the last stop which is around 40 mins from the airport depending on the traffic. once at anagnina station, get on the 507 bus which takes you right outside the hotel within 15-20 mins. the ticket is 1 euro. it was on the 5th stop if im not mistaken but you can ask the driver to let you know when you have to get off. once in the hotel, the reception staff was always welcoming and kind and the rooms were much better than expected.. when i read the reviews i was expecting something disguising but it was actually clean, towels were changed everyday, beds were made and the sleep was excellent.. i guess it was all that walking thought lol.
the breakfast is rediciously cheap though.. still gets something in your belly but wow... pieces of bread, some butter, ham and 2 types of croissants.. also the drinks were rubbish.
as for Rome... it was great but really if you're going for 4 days leave a big attraction for each day or you will be slightly disappointed... the food is around 12 euro per person including drinks depending on where you dine but yea.. a good 40 euro per person a day.
on the way back to the airport its the same principal as coming to it...

to get to the city centre you need to get the bus back to aniginina station (you can get the bus from the same station you get off as it takes 1 minute to get on the other side of the road). once at aniginina station, you go down the stairs and it takes around 30 minutes to the central stations.

OH!!
Don't forget to get ROMA PASS which is really useful and saves stress and around £20 a person if you add it up.. it costs £25 and it includes unlimited travel on tram, metro, buses + 2 free passes to a museum or architectural/historical attraction.. we chose the coliseum which was around £15 per person and some castle which wasn't too expensive but we had nowhere to waste the second free entry anyway.

have a great time!

“If only it was nearer to the city centre....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2010

On the day we arrived, I was told by the staff beforehand that we had to take a blue cotral bus to Annigna (metro station) then from Annaigna take the bus 507 to the hotel. Under the directions section of this hotel it says all this and that the 507 is only 6 stops from the metro station, well its not! We had to wait half and hour to an hour till the cotral bus came and journey was pretty long, maybe half an hour. Then the 507 was another 20 minutes or so. When we arrived the staff were friendly and throughout as well. The hotelis not very close at all to the city centre and you need atleast and hour to get to the city centre, the best way is to go to Anaignina and you can go anywhere from there. Taxi's are expensive, around 30 euros but the good thing is that by taxi the hotel is only around half hour or so from the hotel (this is without traffic).

The room was basic and you can tell you're staying in a budget hotel, there were little insects in the sink and floor (so watch where you step) when I picked up a towel it had a tear in it and wasn't clean also the cleaners didnt clean our room and when we asked the reception for clean towels she said 'oh didnt you get any? wasnt your room cleaned?' When we said no she said oh sorry the cleaners clean the rooms everyday, well forget are's. But when we came back to our hotel the room had been cleaned. So finally, they did listen!!! The heating was ok, the first night was cold so i had to request for an extra blanket. The breakfast was standard and continental. The glazed croissants were delightful!

You can buy a one eura bus and train ticket from the hotel that lasts for 75minutes and then from Anaignina you can buy another ticket for 4 euros and that lasts all day. The subway (metro)is waht i would recommend its just like london, theres only two lines, which are: LINE A: red line-anaignina and LINE B: BLUE LINE: BATTISTINI. you go to the major sights from this, for instance: 'SPAGNA' is a few minnutes walk from the 'spanish steps' and for those of you who loves shopping you would be in heaven and this is on LINE A.

The hotel states as well there is a restaurant nearby, yes there is but this is a shabby pizza place and you can take away to the hotel but i wouldnt recommend it! Only if you're dying of hunger!

I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you want to go sight seeing as its middle of nowhere!!!

“so far away from Rome needs one hour of travel to get anywhere near”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

Hotel is clean in the rooms and the breakfast of croissant and coffee was actually pretty decent, The web site says that they have a shuttle bus-technically they do -but only is operative on sundays when local bus service is not so good and is then shared between 2 other hotels. unfortunatley The location kills this hotel. If it was near the tube it would be,- basic- but okay we had a short 3 night stay. The web site for the hotel is evry misleading-there is no bar in the hotel and nothing at all within 2-3 miles were you could get a drink or a quick glass of wine. To get from the central station to this hotel involves 15 subwat stops -out at the bus stop then a long bus trip. In teh morning this was okay but on a n evening just no good. im sure there are much better hotels closer or even in Rome that i could easily recommemnd. Go to Rome though its magnificent!

“Great price, clean, great location close to beautiful Frascati !”

This hotel is great for people on a budget who want somewhere clean and comfortable at an amazing price. It is a fair bit from Rome centre (about 30 mins) but the hotel runs a great shuttle service to Rome. The hotel is (as the name implies) in an arcade which consists of mainly offices, a few small businesses, a good PAM supermarket and a small snack bar with (good) pizzas etc. The rooms are basic but clean and as good as hotels charging 4 times the price in the UK. This hotel may not be for the lazy traveller who wants everything done for them, but I have stayed here half a dozen times and I will return. Don't worry about the negative reviews, some people will always complain, go and enjoy it !
