Enjoyed the stay in Rome - it's a wonderful city. We had a good welcome. Generally though we left a little underwhelmed when compared to the feedback in other reviews of the hotel on this and other websites. Perhaps the owner was just having an off week, but the breakfasts did not live up to expectation of past reviews and those we had in subsequent hotels.

Having said that, the rooms were very clean, the bathrooms modern and they had satellite TV too. The location was a medium distance walk from the main centre of the city and also accessible by public transport quite easily. For those wanting a central location then this would not be the best one, but Trevi is not too far out of the city.

Domus Mazzini is a complete delight from the warm welcome to the last goodbye. It is set in a very pleasant local neighbouhood, within easy walking distance of the Vatican and a metro link to everywhere else. The restuarant across the street is to be highly recommended - great pasta and superb service from Laura (a young Fenella Fielding lookalike for 'Carry on Sceaming' fans).

Back at the B&B, the quality of the decor is chic and smart yet warmly Italian. Ciro is a very friendly host with superb English and good local knowledge. We really enjoyed the 'family' style breakfast,which featured delicious bread, a great cup of tea and the chance to chat with other guests. When we stayed we were treated to a special Easter Sunday feast of cheesy bread, traditional cake, spicy salami and Easter eggs (soft-boiled and chocolate!). Immaculately clean with excellent maid service we couldn't beleive what good value for money Domus Mazzini is and a brilliant base to see Rome from - highly recommended.
