“Great neighborhood but a little noisy”

Great location in a quiet neighborhood, very close to a bus line that takes you right to the old city center, plus lots of coffee places and restaurants within walking distance. Room was small but very comfortable, with a lovely updated bathroom. Breakfast was basic but good, and the B&B owner is very helpful and friendly. Very affordable for Rome.

The only problem was that our window faced the courtyard, which was charming - except at 1am when some guys came home and decided to hang out and party in the courtyard til 4am. Bummer.

I want to thank my guest for the nice words and apologize for the inconvenience occurred that one night. It was really bad luck because the "blue room", that is the room facing the courtyard, is usually very very quiet.
Please, next time give me a call and I'll come right away to fix it ! :-)

“Great value for money.”

Rome is always one of the best place to visit. The City always offers new breathtaking sights and emotions. We found that services for tourists is getting much better in terms of museums time schedule, public transport and people being able to speak and understand foreigners. Getting to the hotel, it is a great place to stay, out of the center hustle, still within walking distance to many land mark. The owner Ciro is at your full service and he can speak fluent english; rooms are immaculate, cleaned everyday, not very large but fully equipped with everything you might need, internet connection is very fast (only cable though). Breakfast is "italian style" (no eggs or cooked stuff): espresso coffee, capuccino or tea, juices, toasted bread, preserves, yoghurt, cereals and cold cuts and it is served by the owner himself.
We had very nice time there and definitely recommend it.

“Will not stay there again”

Traveling with friends had this B&B booked for two separate stays of one and two days (four days apart) on the way to and from Florence. During the first stay we found the room with toilet that did not work, bugs all over the room including beds, a half empty water bottle in the refrigerator, a half empty bottle of shampoo in the shower and one of the so called beds being just a mattress on the floor. Trying to contact management – no one was at the office and no one answering phones. Eventually they fixed the toilet, but we told them that we would not come back for our second reserved stay. However they still charged us for a night because they have 7 day cancellation policy.

“Quiet, beautiful location and excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2009

This is our third visit to Domus Mazzini in Rome and in a busy, tourist filled city it makes us feel like locals. It is located in the Piazza Mazzini area, with great transport links and lots of local shops and restaurants nearby. You can be in downtown Rome or at the Vatican in less than 30 minutes but you get to come back to a lovely, quite local area in the evening. Ciro is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome once again.

“Great city”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2007

Enjoyed the stay in Rome - it's a wonderful city. We had a good welcome. Generally though we left a little underwhelmed when compared to the feedback in other reviews of the hotel on this and other websites. Perhaps the owner was just having an off week, but the breakfasts did not live up to expectation of past reviews and those we had in subsequent hotels.

Having said that, the rooms were very clean, the bathrooms modern and they had satellite TV too. The location was a medium distance walk from the main centre of the city and also accessible by public transport quite easily. For those wanting a central location then this would not be the best one, but Trevi is not too far out of the city.
