“Great place to stay, very convenient for visit to the Vatican”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2009

My husband and I stayed at this B&B. Rudy was very helpful. Our suitcase did not arrive with our flight. Since we did not speak Italian, we had a difficult time at the airport. We had some paper work done.. we gave it to Rudy (B&B owner) and he did the follow. Two days later our suitcase arrived.
B&B is a misnomer for the place. Breakfast is serve yourself.. meaning, anytime you feel like eating, there is food in the kitchen. You have access to a stove, refrigerator and food. The kitchen is stocked with drinks, yogurt, fruits, pastries.
Because we were jet lagged, we would wake up at 3am, and hungry. We had food waiting for us. For the money.. it was well worth it.
My only negative comment is, since it is at Viale Vatican street, if you leave your window open at night, you can hear the street noise, other than that.. the B&B is excellent. We closed our window at night anyways.
The place has another room, not facing the street, so if the noise will bother you, you can request for that room.
I would stay at the B&B next time I visit Rome.

“Great location -- wonderful hosts”

Pros:
1. Great location -- literally across the street from the Vatican museums and 5-minute walk from St. Peter's; subway within a 10-15 minute walk, and a major bus terminal nearby with buses going to all the main attractions in Rome.
2. Wonderful hosts Rudy and Claudia -- they go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need, and are happy to help you find your way around town, organize transportation, or even help you deal with any issues where fluent Italian would be helpful. Great people.
3. Nice fresh breakfast and use of kitchen
4. Private bathroom a definite plus.
5. (Plenty of Wifi signals across the street and on the steps around the corner - shh!)

Cons: only one -- the room is no luxury palace, but basic, clean and comfortable.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

“Very Friendly and Helpful Owners/Staff”

My husband and I stayed at the RomAntica in the middle of May. We had been traveling France and Italy for two weeks and were quite beat when we reached Rome. Claudia and Rudi were very welcoming and very helpful. They let us know that we could come and go as we pleased. Showed us the small kitchen area that was ours to use. And they provided us with a map of the city and explained the best ways to get to certain sites and places to eat.

We stayed in the green room. It was a decent size and very clean. We felt very comfortable staying in this b&b. It was a great location right across from the Vatican and truly not far from many of the Roman sites. We only had a couple of small negative things: 1) the shower in the bathroom leaks all over the floor, so you have to mop it up immediately afterwards or risk slipping on the tile and hurting yourself. (Not so bad for those that clean up after themselves anyway, but there had been someone staying there that did not wipe up the floor after his shower and I almost wiped out.) 2) It is located right on Viale Vaticano, so there is a lot of traffic and sometimes a lot of noise.

But other than that, Claudia and Rudi were excellent hosts and my husband and I had a terrific time in Roma.

“Highly recomended”

Now I know why this hotel is highly recommended by users...A few steps from Roma Termini, very good room, recently renewed, very nice!!! Also: you can get most of what you need in this area (market, money exchange, and even a mall in the Termini...). In summer, the air conditioning is really necessary. You can get that for an extra fee (10 euros). I think that it was a fair price, and I really recomend this Hotel.
