I stayed at Villa Rosa hotel for 10 days at the end of February 2011 with my working collegues, as we partecipated at Big Blu nautical fair at Rome fair, therefore we chose a hotel that was cheap enough for our company budget, as we got 3 doubles for single use for 48EUR/per room/per night, which was excellent for us.Breakfast included.
Luckily we had a GPS, so at least we made it to the hotel which is in a tiny street up to the Circovallazione Gianincolense and very close to Trastevere train station and also cable trains passed by there.
The staff at the reception was really handy. The double rooms were actually really tiny, but since were used as single, it was just enough.Rooms were cleaned daily which was great.Breakfast was regular, you could drink as many coffees as you wanted, eat as many croissants you wished. But after 10 days of same food we were a bit fed up. In the night the below main street was a bit noisy as there was an ambulance statoin up the street.Since we traveled with a van, we parked it in a guarded parking lot about 400mtr from the hotel on that main street...25 EUR at night, but at least we knew our vehicle was safe.
All in all Villa Rosa was a cozy choice for us, who had to travel to Rome fair every day (close to highway connections to Fiumicino) and not very far from city centre (about 15 min with bus, which costs 1 EUR single).
I would reccomend this hotel for a budget traveller, but if you're looking for luxury, don't go there.Last thing. If you wish to have wireless internet you need to pay for a password, which costs 5 EUR for 2 hours and 10 EUR for 5 hours, so think if you really need all that internet surfing.
