“Friendly, Comfortable, Good Rate”

We stayed in the room with the sunflowers (presumably the blue room), which comfortably suited 3 people.

We found Arancio to be clean, the owners to be very friendly and there was everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including the balconies to sit on every morning and evening.

The area is a little noisy as the previous reviewer said, however, it wasn't at a level where we lost sleep or were adversely affected by it.

The local Metro station is a five minute walk (or less) away and the Termini and central Rome is about 15 minutes away by Metro.

We enjoyed Arancio to the extent where we would stay there again (90 euro a night by the way), and plan to do so!

  • Liked — Cleanliness and suburban location (we lived like real Italians, not tourists!)
  • Disliked — We ran out of (breakfast) food on the third day and could not cook either

“Lovely hosts”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2006

We, my partner, myself and our son, stayed for four nights at this little B & B. We stayed in the "Yellow" room. There was a couch in the bedroom which extended to a bed for our son.
The hosts couldn't have been nicer, picked us up from Hotel, made us coffee, settled us in then left us to enjoy our holiday. Provided plenty of food for breakfast. The rooms where simple but clean and had everything we needed. Its a short drive from Ciampino Airport - handy if you are flying RyanAir, but a good 20 minute subway from the central city - avoid peak travelling times.
Unfortunately there were a couple of issues that would prevent me from staying here again. Firstly I found the bed extremely uncomfortable. Very hard and lumpy. I woke stiff and with a sore back all four mornings. Mainly though the problem was the noise. The street is very very noisy. The first night we were awoke at 1am by rubbish collectors emptying the commercial bins for the shops below, who had no thought to do so quietly (if at all that could be done), and were shouting and laughing to each other. Then the next night, about 12pm. the street cleaners arrived and took at least an hour to clean the surrounding area, cleaning between cars etc. After that I bought some ear plugs which helped a little.
The surrounding area is great for shopping and small eating establishments. And not far from a small night-market selling crafts and jewellery.
