“A fantastic stay- highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2011

Great location; just a short walk to the colloseumand even closer to the metro, which gets you to anywhere you need to go sightseeing within rome. Advice: DO NOT GET A TAXI FROM THE TRAIN STATION or if you do, insist they put the meter on. Very expensive for a taxi, and the b&b is literally a 5 minute walk from the station (termini).

Henry was fantastic, very kind and generous. He was helpful giving us tips on places to eat, get the metro and the best gelati in town (take his word for it, it was truly great). Henry even let us use his personal computer which was very kind and helpful.

Our room was good, clean and the bed was comfortable. Our shower was great, excellent pressure and always hot water. It should be notes that breakfast is not served in the b&b but at a cafe down the road. This wasn't a problem as it was close and the coffee And pastry were delicious (and cheap if you wanted to buy an additional).

The best part about thus place was the kitchen which we could use. It made it cheap and convenient for us to cook our own meals and refridgerate our food.

A wonderful stay, complete quality.

“Don't stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2011

Me and my boyfriend spent 4 nights here in May 2011. Firstly we felt we had been deceived, when we booked the room it did not mention that it was a shared bathroom so we were very surprised and not happy about that when we arrived to find we would be sharing a bathroom. Also there was no tv in the room which we did not like. We like watching tv in bed in the evening, not in a common area with strangers. The landlady/owner expected us to pay in cash on arrival and did not have appropriate change so we had so we ended up having to pay her the last 6 euros in coins which luckily we had. The toilet was running and did not flush for almost 24 hours which is not something you want in a shared bathroom with only 1 toilet. The bathroom door did not lock so I had to barricade it in case someone opened it. I only give it credit for the fact that it was clean and the location was good. Only 10 min walk from Termini station and easy to walk to all the monuments. Also not happy that one morning we slept in late and the cleaning lady didn't even knock on the door, she just opened it up. Luckily we were decent or that would have been very embarrassing. You should knock before you open someone's door, not everyone is out sightseeing at the crack of dawn.

“GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO VERY EXPENSIVE HOTELS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2010

ok firstly i wish to say i had a really great experience - perhaps this is not a five star hotel but then its not as five star price - and Rome is shockingly shockingly expensive(€6.00/kg apples) - i was desparate to avoid usual travel/hotel shocks/disappointments - this worked brilliantly - not only were we taken care off but left in peace - i wanted a true feel of what living in Rome feels like and that is exactly what i got - i planned to avoid public transport especially taxies and walk everywhere that also worked brilliantly - but because Chez Liviana is brilliantly situated!!! - i suppose if not five star then a little openmindedness would be usefull!!! - but security was great and entrance entierly in marble - i was shocked how safe i felt in the streets at night - even the outside service till with teenagers who were genuinly singing - people if initially polite(Romans in general) can sometimes shock you with a point of guillotine rudeness but generally very sociable - Chez Liviana very highly recommeded !!! we will be back and next time as long as possible - thanks a million Chez Liviana!!!

“Wouldn't recommend to friends”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2010

I was unsure about booking this place after reading the reviews, but decided to book anyway. It was below average due to foul smelling bathroom, loud plumbing and "breakfast included" that was only a loaf of white bread, some nutella, & make your own coffee (which couldn't be made due to stove lighter not working). It was in a secure building and off the main street which was a plus, but the foul smells of the bathroom really made this a place we would not recommend to friends.

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2009

Good price and close location to the train station, however it is not located at the address located on the website. You are taken to a separate apartment. No AC and one old fan in the room, definitely want to stay in a hotel with AC during the summer in Rome. . Sheets were not changed at all during my several day stay, nor was I given a separate towel. Shower had low pressure. Washing machine had horrible smell had to wash clothes in the sink. Breakfast included is a joke, no cereal my whole stay, and old juice in the fridge, with stale bread. VERY Loud location. Basically no frills accommodating, but staying elsewhere in Rome is expensive. I would advise to go to a hostel to meet people.
