“Bad service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2011

Via email I had reserved a room at Via del Pantheon 57, a room which Casaromana manages. When we arrived at the location, my phone rang and the owner told us to walk to another street as Via del Pantheon 57 was already booked. I was furious: The deal had been clear, we had a booking in Via del Pantheon. But we had to walk to another street (Via del Guibbuinare or something like that) and here the owner told us that, No, the room we could stay in was not in Via del Guibbuinare, he wolud walk us to our room. The room was placed on the first floor in a building with wiew over the ruins at Lago de Torre Argentina. A nice wiew, yes. But what a noise..... The big road directly outside our room was horrible; not the nice and lovely in the-middle-of-the-center-of-the-city-room we had expected. And we had to walk to Via del Guibbuinare every morning to eat breakfast. It was a very bad experience. And when we tried to explain the owner that we were not at all pleased with them giving us another, worse room, than the one book, he just said "Madam, madam, the view is beautiful". As if that was any help.
The room however was clean and spacy. There was only enough hot water for one person to take a bath; quite annoying. I will not stay here again. :(

“Reasonable room, disgraceful reception”

The operators asked us to prearrange a time for our arrival, and agreed on 10am, confirmed by email. We waited in the street in the rain for 20 minutes, then rang their contact number and someone came at 10:40, accusing us of not having made the arrangement. The apartment was not ready and we had to leave and come back at 12. After a sleepless flight from Australia, we found this reception inexcusable.

“Good relationship price/quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2008

Knowing the high prices of Rome, this is one of the cheapest. You should know that they have several apartments in Rome, and they decide where they put you. You see a person at the arrival and then you are completely in your own. The room was very clean, and it was provided with air conditioning, TV and a heater.

It was a good experiance.

“Bad Experience at Casaromana”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2005

We had a very BAD experience at Casaromana which appears to be an outlet with several apartments throughout Rome. There was no reception, public areas and service. When we reached the property at Via Monterone, we had to call and wait 20 minutes for a man to arrive and walk us to another property. After checking into our room and paid our bill in cash, we were left on our own. Throughout our 2 night stay there, there was no staff on the property to provide assistance or answer questions.

The WORST they did was using their master key to open our room and removing our luggage and personal items WITHOUT our knowledge while we were out sightseeing. Imagine our shock when we returned and saw our stuff being left outside the room unattended!! It seemed that they were overbooked and wanted us to move to another property despite the facts that we had fully paid for the accommodation and it was our last night there. We refused and spent 15 minutes reasoning with the owner over the phone before he made alternative arrangement for the other couple who was about to occupy our room.

When we checked out, it was simply leaving the keys in the room.
