Not all b&bs have the touch of an artist/interior designer so Katja's is certainly special in that restpect. It is a lovely apartment filled with interesting things, you feel like you're living in a live scrapbook, walking admist someone's best happy memories. The rooms are small and have no television nor en suite bathroom but the other elements more than make up for these.
As others have already written, Gianluca's breakfasts are fantastic. They vary slightly each morning so you don't get bored. I love the extra touches that make it so special - they even change the table cloths and the designs are always so happy and cheery. And of course what a treat to have enough left over each time to make sandwiches to take with you for the day.
The place is just across the street from the Vatican and I felt it was such a luxury to be able to pop over there anytime to roam the courtyard, meet friends, or just sit and peoplewatch. Transport is easy with bus 64 - the pickpocket bus as guidebooks say, but if you're careful nothing to worry about at all. I rode it several times with no incident. Also if you're a walker, you can cross the river into the heart of the city easily too.
