“Clean and friendly B&B for a very reasonable price”

It is not easy to find nice and clean hotel in Rome for a reasonable price. Astoria is an excellent choice and I will continue staying there. It's very close to the metro, it provides free Wifi (if you have your own computer, tablet or phone), it has a nice terrace. And for my business trips I need a place to sleep, not to live. This time I even found an excellent pizzeria in 5min walking distance (Butteri, Via Regina Margherita) with a superbe Gelateria just next to it.

“A real Grand little place!”

A real beautiful experience is not when all is OK! there are many hotels in the world that have the beauty of material construction, but, our stay at the All Comfort Astoria, was made "Perfect" by the human element. It is amazing that one single person (Giulia Fortunato) can make sucha a B-I-G change. Giulia made everyday for us a SPECIAL DAY. The location of this charming little hotel, is of outmost importance to foreigners travelling in Europe. We were able to stay in a safe, clean, charming place where everyday we had access to all that the city has to offer. Safety is of paramount importance when away from home. She made sure we felt not only welcomed, but very safe and secure. The hospitals right accross the street, added to our feeling of being in the best cituated place possible. Thanks to Giulia, we already feel we have a home away from home in Italy. Recomending it to ALL OUR CLIENTS as we are International Travel Agents we also put this in our Forum for all Agents in the world to know where to send their customers who travel there.

“Clean and comfortable setting with friendly and helpful receptionist!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2011

Although, at first glance, we thought 'we'd been dropped off in the wrong place', once we found our accommodation on the top floor of this building we were pleasantly surprised! Spacious and comfortable bed and, although decor was old-fashioned and not 'our cup of tea', everywhere was clean. The receptionist was very polite and helpful which made up for the limited choice of food at breakfast-time. It is certainly not a good place to stay if you wish to be within walking distance of the city centre, but it's only 2 minutes walk away from the Metro, so ideal for that!

“Astoria was great for my expectations - Love at first sight!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2010

I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotel ranging from all possible levels. I fell in love with the hotel at first sight. For the value, I do not think how one can get better than this. I have searched many hotels and Astoria was great for my expectations.

Old fashioned elevator takes you to the 4th floor, where the rooms are bright, it is near to the hospital, thus quiet. Very nice balconies (might be great for the summer). Excellent location, extremely close to the Metro Policilinico, nice people, very friendly and helpful (multilingual). Reception closes at 21:00 but they give you the key to the apartment, it is just that you cannot ask any service from 21:00 onwards. Breakfast is not huge but was quiet enough for me. Internet is wireless and free, fast enough for my needs. Water temperature was not steady (too hot to too cold in too little time) but they said they were working on it (it did not keep me away from taking a careful shower, anyway).

I would give 9 out of 10, for sure!

I cannot imagine someone not liking this hotel considering the cleanness, value, location and staff...

Look no further, really! :)

“Do Not Stay Here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

This is not a hotel....it is not even really a B&B. It is located in a commercial area of Rome with no restaurants in the area....no sites to visit. We walked for about an hour on dark and basically deserted streets before we found somewhere to eat and it was at best bad. Management barely speaks English. The phone in our room did not work and neither did the clock. Shower curtain was filthy. There is no one at reception after 10:00 p.m. and the reception area, common room where the internet is located as well as access to the terrace is locked up. You are basically trapped in your room with only access to the stairwell and the hallway. On Saturday the reception area closes at 2:00 p.m., but no one bothers to tell you this so if you need to email, check out or have any other business you need to discuss with the management you're SOL. We were "Lucky" that the boy who clearns the rooms was still there, otherwise we wouldn't have known what was going on. He attempted to call "hotel" management but 3 times they hung the phone up in our ear. They didn't want to talk to us about anything. They also didn't want to give us a receipt for our stay here. With no phone service in the room and no access to anyone at reception you are unable to contact the outside world without physically going out of the building. We had no way to contact a taxi to pick us up at 5:30 a.m. to catch our flight out of Rome. The room boy came back at 5:45 to call us a taxi. It was a very stressful experience.
