When we arrived at Aena's B&B we, like one of the other reviewers couldn't find it because the numbers nor the name of the B&B are clearly marked. We also thought the street looked a bit dodgey but as we were exhausted from our travel and this B&B was 5 minutes from Termini station (we arrived at Rome via coach from Ciampino airport) its location was a godsend.
We tried to contact Federica (the owner) by mobile phone before we arrived to make sure that someone would be there and; her cleaner was (we never got to meet Federica which was a shame). The cleaner buzzed the door open but never told us which floor we were in thus we waited downstairs in the hope she'd come down and help us with our luggage (she didn't). We buzzed again upstairs and she seemed a bit stroppy about this and asked us to come upstairs to the 4th floor. By this time we were a little peeved to say the least as the lift was the tiniest we've ever seen and smelt a bit odd.
However, she showed us into the entrance of the B&B and we have to state very very clearly that we were absolutely impressed by the decor and cleanliness. It was a little heaven.
We stayed from 21st to 22nd April 2007 and returned on 27th to 28th April. Each time we had a different room and both were extremely comfortable.
The comments about overlooking the inner courtyard of the building are fair comments made by a previous reviewer however this is quite normal for apartments in city locations. Considering where we were the apartments were very quiet.
The dining room is just as you come into the B&B and all around are the other B&B bedrooms. Thus when you come in you do have to consider the other people who maybe staying.
The breakfast was laid out the day before and it looked very nice except I'm not a great lover of the toast or that biscuit bread but nevertheless it was again laid out nicely and looked inviting.
All the comments in the guest book are excellent. We would stay hear again definitely and suggest you do too.
Happy holiday!!
