My husband, two 18-year old daughters and I spent two nights at Aenea's Bed and Breakfast in Rome. The street, which is one-way and hard to access by cab, is very grungy. Men lounging on the doorstep, people hanging out the windows - my husband and daughters wanted us to leave immediately. The lobby of the apartment building, which is where you find the B&B wasn't much more reassuring. But the rooms were bright, clean, starched sheets and pillowcases, and a lot of IKEA decor. The kitchen, which was well-equipped (no pots or pans - expectation is you're only there for breakfast) could do with some air-conditioning. There is someone there to greet you and that's about it. For the price - which was just about double all the others in the neighbourhood - I'd look around for something that more closely resembles the pictures on the website. For location, i.e. right next to the train station and for peace and quiet it was perfect.
