I thought B&B Cicerone - Michelle's other B&B looked wonderful and good value for 3 days in Rome. I was booking two rooms - one for me and a friend and another for a couple who were celebrating their first wedding anniversary in Rome. I was a bit nervous for it to work out - especially for my friends celebrating the anniversary. The booking seemed a bit informal which made me nervous and I wasn't surprised when we ended up getting bumped to B&B Tibullo - the sister B&B. Not sure what happened but when I discussed with Michelle - she was happy to move us back...only difference is that Tibullo has ensuite batrooms and Cicerone does not. After a check with the anniversary duo, we opted to go with Tibullo after all and for the price we had originally confirmed for Cicerone! All of this to say that the reviews are right. Michelle is as accommodating and wonderful as indicated. She was there when we arrived and welcomed us with espresso and lots of good advice on where to go.. She also was able to book another room for some other friends of ours at the last minute. The rooms were lovely - yes the blue room is bigger if you are sharing but the pink room is just fine too. Breakfast is okay - it was nice to get the espresso but truthfully - unless you like biscuits and pastries - you'll probably want to get something elsewhere. The location is good - within a liberal walking distance to what I would consider the centre of Rome...but much closer to the Vatican (good for early morning line ups!) and kind of far away from things like the Coliseum etc. Overall it was an excellent experience. Did I mention how great Michelle is?!
