this hotel is cheap value for money
stayed in triple room was large and clean with ensuite bathroom all newly decorated
tanya was very nice and helpfull
hotel is around the corner from trevi fountain and within minutes from Venice Piazza and other main attractions like the Pantheon and Tour bus stop 7
stairs are good excercise
breakfast basic but enough
really enjoyed my stay

I actually had a reservation in May 2010; I'm late to review. I had a confirmed reservation at 3 Coins but when I arrived in the afternoon (after having to climb up three narrow flights of stairs to get to their reception desk., no one was in the B&B. I had emailed the day before with my arrival time and with a question, but they never responded to me. I called the number they had on their door, and they said they had no records of my reservation, but would be there in ten minutes. I waited for a full hour and then gave up and left and stayed in the extremely lovely Hotel Fontana. A few weeks later, I saw on my credit card statement that 3 Coins had charged me for my stay! First they weren't there when I arrived in the afternoon, when I called they said they had NO record of my reservation, they told me they would be there in ten minutes and though I waited at their front door an hour they never arrived, and then they actually charged me for this! Unbelievable. (Thankfully my credit card is wonderful and had the charges reversed.) Even if I hadn't had any problems with them, I'm so happy to have stayed somewhere else. The stairs in 3 Coins are many and difficult to climb.

pluses - great location, literally 1 minute walk from the trevi fountain so we were at the fountain one day at 7am and only a few people were there (quite a change!), tanya our hostess is very kind and friendly, free wifi in the room. also it did me good walking 3 stairs up and down every day ;) backpack is recommended. relatively cheap.

minuses - huge room but i'm not a big fan of full floor carpet, think it's kind of filthy, and the toilet in one of the rooms we stayed at smelled funny once you've used it... breakfast was pretty basic (croissants in plastic, yogurt, white bread, jam, cheese, coffee, juice) and there were only 6 seats at a time.

Friendly, welcoming , perfect location, central to everything.A/C in room a must in 40 degrees , room small but adequate, very clean, cheap for in the center of Rome. Forget the decor you are out most of the day.......
